What's new

Utah is now a top 15 team according to Hollinger's power rankings

Update:

Jazz are #13 now. Their strength of schedule in the past 25% of their games has now only been the 5th toughest in the NBA (.543), but their average scoring margin was an extremely solid +5.00 during that stretch. .543 would still be tougher than anybody's entire schedule to date, and only three teams in the NBA have a higher scoring margin than +5 for the season(Atlanta, Golden State, and LA Clippers).

This could very easily be a playoff team next season.

I respectfully request a link.

What's Utahs record the last 25% of their games with a +5.0 scoring margin?

Not sure this is how ESPN does it but I totled up the Jazz record to date (23+35=58) and divided by 4 = 14.5 so I took the last 15 games.

The Jazz record over that time is 8-7

Wins against the Bucks, Nuggets, Spurs, Blazers, Pelicans, Kings, Warriors and Nets.

Loses against the Lakers, Mavs, Suns, Grizzlies, Blazers, Clips and Celtics.

Jazz are 6-4 in the last 10.

If we take the season in 15 game chunks, we have been:

5-10
5-10
6-9
7-6

Not too bad. I'm so pumped for the rest of the season. It's been before Al got here that I've been this excited for Jazz basketball.

The progress made this season is way way beyond my expectations. I expected improvement but modest and with a similar record. QS: what a coach. What defense. And unlike the Jazz of all these years, including Sloan, they are doing it without fouling. Exum showing signs of life, oh my. Add a good piece and next year they WILL make the playoffs, and could be above 8 seed.

With an improved Dante and a healthy Burks this team will be even more formidable!

And that's just it. It won't be only then that come back improved. Good, Gobert, Burke...hell even Favors and Hayward are still young to very young and improving.

So high on this team.

Me too! At this time last year though I was honestly just depressed about the team. They finished the season so badly.
