Beating the Rockets feels a lot more sweet than beating the Blazers.

Well, if we win the series, it’ll at least feel like we’ve taken another step this year, even if the Dubs throttle us.

That’ll make things really bright for next season.

Maybe this could be the perfect year: Carmelo was cut and no one wanted him, Wade said buh bye, Lebron missed out on the playoffs...the only thing we’re missing is a first round exit for the fourth horseman.

This is why losses to Lakers a couple nights ago and losses Hawks and earlier in the season Mavs by over 40 point bite....I know its just one game right?
Just have to play it a game at a time and keep focused

Clutchfans meltdown. They are a massive fanbase, and due to our history with the Rockets they despise us. They'll turn on their own players at the first sign of trouble. This series has the potential for exquisite schadenfreude. JazzAvenues very well could produce his finest work.

There's no team I enjoy seeing the Jazz beat more than the Rockets, and that has a lot to do with the inevitable Clutchfans salt.

Last season I was convinced they were going to destroy us and they did. This season I believe it's going to 7 games.

Seems right. Utah was injured well beyond normal in that series and Houston is somewhat worse this year. I don't see this as doom and gloom. ESPN noted Ingles stat lines in our Ws and Ls against them. If Ingles (or another SF) finds his stroke against them, we'll probably win.

Some things I’ll be looking for in this series:

Getting Ingles going, he didn’t play well v them last year. We need the Ingles that took Pushoff P to the woodshed.

Keeping Harden off the FT line. We need a 6 or less per game average.

Destroying CPs 10-15 jumper. Not sure who would be best here. ONeale? Mitchell? Sefolosha?

Stopping the 3s by Gordon, Rivers and Green. We are the NBAs best team for fewest 3s allowed per game.

If it makes you feel better, fans on Rockets forums are just as unhappy about how things turned out as we are.

We won't be getting the less than 6 free throws per game by harden. No chance in hell. I would bet anything on it.

What killed us last year was the Paul and capela pick and roll. If Rudy stayed with Clint, cp3 took the mid range j and made like 90% on it. If Rudy contested Paul, capela got a dunk. Rudy will need help but also I don't think Paul can hit that shot as efficiently as he did last year.

-Against Portland a win is the only acceptable outcome, more leeway here.
    - A chance to prove we improved even if we don’t make it as far as last year.
    - No Trevor Ariza against Mitchell
    - Gobert hopefully has been waiting for another chance against Capela, hopefully he’ll play better.
    - A chance against the team that ended your season last year
    - Clutch fan quotes after wins.
-Easily the best round 1 matchup in either conference.
