Hayward will be fine, but this is true. Our team leader needs to give us more. He was outplayed by several players on both teams. He sucked from the line.
Hopefully he'll come back strong on Friday!

If he didn't hit that layup, i would think exactly the same way but that play made up for me. Not many players could go right into Drummond to make a go-ahead layup especially when they have a relatively bad game.
Eventhough he was not good overall, he made the most important clutch shot just when we need him to make one.

I fear Millsap just isnt going to cut it. Neither is Slo Mo. These guys are decent players, but we need bench shooting. We need a specialists.
I know both are great guys, and likable, but are they good enough to get us to the playoffs? Both play minutes, and are part of the rotation. We
need more from them.

Hate Millsap - he's the opposite of dynamic on offense, he retards the firepower and creates a floor imbalance - for not a good enough reason... He's a glorified D-Leaguer with very little upside..

When Sap took that runner at the start of the 4th quarter, I couldn't help but think to myself "WTF am I watching?!"

Ingles too, to a lesser extent. Ingles is more serviceable(my issue with Joe[That he's overpaid] is compounded by Millsap's presence). Add Pleiss to the watchlist too.

It's not personal either, I just kind of smell ******** with these moves --- A Mile away.. I have a list of legit basketball reasons why. The best counter-point I can come up with for those legit reasons is the Jazz singed these players to ensure the tank - I've surmised with a good bench this team might've won too many games, so they went with something makeshift, by choice..

Those moves almost seem to have a disingenuous quality IMHO (been calling them out on this since the Free Agency period this summer).. They'd have been better off finding development projects to test with trial/error IMO, Instead they wen't with a bunch of 'vets' with little NBA experience (Just what this team needs - Obviously!!)..

Gerald Green cost a pittance this summer, you can't tell me he couldn't have scored 10 points off the bench in that game... I'm just not gonna hear it

Man Trey was awful in this game. The whole bench minus Burks in the 4th quarter was dreadful. When only two guys off the bench can get any points, and only one can get more than 4, it's going to be a long night most nights.

How was Trey awful? He moved the ball well, fought through screens, and didn't take any I'll advised shots. I swear some people just love being critical for the sake of being critical.

Bruh he was invisible.. He got stuffed and disappeared.. the Jazz PG's (not including Burks) make less than 4 mil, and 3/4 of that goes to Trey.. You don't see the issue??

Soon-to-be 36 year old, Steve Blake schooled him... Talk about cringeworthy... other than Burke chucking up 10 bricks, could that performance have gone any worse?? He got blocked on 1 of his 2 attempts too. I've been trying to root for him, even in the preseason while his shooting %'s were good he was getting blocked a bunch - I thought that was a bit ominous..... Call it the 'Eddy Curry Indicator', Trey scores poorly on that..

The Jazz have cupcake games for the first 5, already 0-1. After that the rest of November is vs mostly last years playoff teams. I've said for years here, the key to any good tank is the first 20 games, It really helps to stumble early on, just so you quell fans expectations right out of the gate. The Schedule isn't set up in the Jazz favor, especially if they don't capitalize on these first few match-ups vs lottery teams.

I think you are being a bit hard on the Jazz. No, Millsap did not have a good game, but he didn't get many minutes, either. In my opinion, Detroit got the benefit of the calls. That last charge by Rudy could easily have been called a block. On the replay, I noticed Illyasova's right foot was still moving when they made contact. Also, Pope's block was iffy. On the replay, it appeared he made contact with Hood's hand as he was releasing the ball. But both were very close so you can't fault the refs for missing those. I also thought Burks was fouled several times on his drives but didn't get the calls that higher profile players would've gotten. All in all, the Jazz played well enough to beat a good Pistons team on the road. A couple plays or call that went their way, and it would've been a W. I think we can look forward to a great season. The only position we need to worry about is, PG. Trey just isn't cutting it, and it wasn't so much his failure to score that hurt the Jazz but his poor defense.

Ugh...I just finished the game. Rough night. Great run at the end and big stops but Rudy can't give up an easy lay up with the game on the line. Hayward couldn't get going. I felt like there were some awful touch fouls. Burks was good but felt out of control at times. He was huge down the stretch. We just needed that one last shot to fall. Also, Rudy's dumb charge trying to dribble down the lane and dunk 8 ft from the basket. He's gotta dish that for the easy 2 and not get that dumb foul that took him out of the game. Man, we had a chance at that one.

That dumb play by Rudy also should've been called a block. The replay showed that Illyasova was still moving despite what Harpring may have said.

Looked like a charge to me. And it takes him 2 hours to get through the lane. The other team has plenty of time to set up and just wait for him to plow through.

Did you notice that Illyasova's right foot was still moving? He wasn't fully set. It was close but he WAS moving his right foot. I'd like to see it again, but when I saw the replay, it looked liked his right foot shuffled a bit and he wasn't set.

I don't like the way the NBA calls this play. They need to give the offensive player a little more leeway. Seems like the O player can make a total commitment to going through an open hole and then the D guy can get in the way. I don't think that is playing defense, it is just taking advantage of the way the play is called. Give the O player an extra half-step or half second, make D player be in position earlier.

It looks like Neto and Burke are really playing out for you guys. What did they combine for last night? 10 pts, 5 assists in 35+ min? Oh I am sure the response is going to be "Its one game blah blah too small of a sample size" which is funny since a recently released PG only had 2-3 games in the preseason with little to no playing time for most of you to conclude he is not worthy. In short, Jazz gonna Jazz- this is why you are not a good franchise.

This is one of the main problems that many are underestimating. Jazz can't make the playoffs with this bench.

The bench needs shooters. You don't win games only having good locker room guys.
