*** Utah Jazz @ Detroit Pistons Wednesday October 28th 5:30 MT Official Game Thread***

C.J. McCollum has 22 points in the first quarter vs the Pels.. Posters here love to play the Schroder can't shoot angle, if the Jazz wanted a shooter they should've drafted CJ doe, not Trey...

Pelicans, Spurs, Rockets and Grizzlies all lost as well.

Pelicans are down 43-18 and the end of the 1st. That's right...43-18. Sac is losing and it is Dal v Suns.

Hayward didn't look like his normal self(a lot of that was calls) but Burke destroyed any chance we had. He destroys possessions and gives up easy baskets on D. He is like Kanter but he can't rebound and has a much worse offensive game. ie he's not an NBA player. He was a great college player but that's because there was less athleticism and a 35 second shot clock. Srsly we would be lucky to get a 2nd rounder out of him.

Corbin's revenge.

By the way we made two 3 pointers in entire game. Ironically, both by Neto.

No threes by Gordon-Hood-Burks-Ingles combined. Drummond shot like 8/10 free throws. And we were up one with 23 seconds left.

We need Hood and Burks in there together to close the game. Both have been able to create very well. Meanwhile, Hayward still sleeping. Zzzz

Christ. I would kill for CJ over Burke right now.

If i had to pin this loss on something it would be 3 point shooting.

And on the one hand, i expect hayward, ingles and hood to do a bit better than 0-10. But on the other hand, Neto going 2-2 is also unexpected.
Yup

1 loss, many more to come sucks to start the season this way with all the hype but at least Neto was impressive and too bad Burks couldn't pull off that dunk

I think this was an ideal game to start the season off with. Coach Snyder and Van Gundy were playing chess all night, and the Jazz got to test different line-ups in a tight-game situation.

Quite a few positives:

-- Favors was very efficient and has more confidence at the FT line.
-- Hood was dominant from mid-range and guarded Reggie Jackson fairly well overall in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
-- Burks is confident and drew 7 FTAs.
-- Neto looks like he'll be able to knock down a few shots.
-- The triple wing played shut-down defense and concurrently scored on 4 straight possessions in crunch time.
-- Gobert was rarely out of position defensively and played under control.

Problems:

-- 3-pt. shooting
-- Trey Burke
-- Joe hesitant to shoot or drive
-- Rebounding from our 2nd unit
