Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

you're over shooting this one. clayton isn't a traditional pg of course, but he is absolutely a good and willing passer who played mostly point on the national championship team. he averaged 4+ assists and had a 23% assist rate which is pretty good.

I view him as Keyonte or Sexton tier as PG who are... capable of passing to an open man and not capable of getting a team into sets (which is why Collier was force fed minutes because he's the only guy on the roster capable of getting the team into sets)

WCJ's stats across his 9 postseason games last year were incredible:

33.4 MPG
21.8 PTS
3.4 REB
3.8 AST
0.4 BLK
1.1 STL
2.9 TO
.687 TS (insane, especially given how much he creates for himself)
.475 FG (6.2-13.1)
.458 3P (3.7-8.0)
.500 2P (2.6-5.1)
.911 FT (5.7-6.2: more FTA than 2PA)

and the defenses he was playing against. incredible.

46% from three on 8 attempts a game against that level of defense. sheesh. what a stretch.

WCJ at PG would be funny.

We should play

WCJ
Sensabaugh
Ace
Lauri
Hendricks

Just five snipers who are all so incredibly bad in terms of BBIQ that we can't execute any sets.

What happens when every player on the court is a blackhole with no skills other than hitting 43% from three.
At least it would provide you with a ton of negative material to post about right?

Wow

I saw Marcus Sasser brought up as a comparison and that’s another good one. Somewhere between Sasser and Pritchard is how I’d expect his career to turn out. Obviously Sasser is still early in his career but he looks to be on a path to becoming a solid backup. Would surprise me if Walt doesn’t at least get to that level.
