Utah Jazz vs. Atlanta Hawks (6pm MST/9pm Puerto Ricoooo time)

I was glad to see the come from behind block from Hayward. He has been in place to attempt these but hasnt gone for them this season. I thought maybe he was worried about the finger so maybe he is feeling better. He had a little more hustle in general this game.

One thing that tells me he's not ready is the fact that he never got more then two assists as a starter playing between 27-35 mins a game. Only once did he play fewer then 27 mins. I'm sorry but our starting pg can't get only 1.5 assists in 29-30 mins a game.

This is true.

But no-one is critical of George hill who is averaging 4.6apg as a starter and very experienced point guard. (also only had 1 assist today).

Quin on Exum/Mack:

Seems like he's saying Dante is out of the rotation... for now, but should be ready when called upon... and he's probably not happy with his defense.

This is concerning.

Quin seems to have been happy with Dante's play, however believes Mack was playing better so deserves more minutes.

Wouldn't it make sense to have just 3 point guards?

Starter - Hill
Backup - Exum
3rd String - Neto

specifically as the Jazz really need to work out who / what level of player Exum is by the end of this season / into next season.

Its disappointing to not see more of Exum and not having him try and do more when he is in the game. I think he has shown this far in the season that he is already better than Mack. He is doing about the same on offense so far and is a better defender, gets the team into their offense faster and turns the ball over less. Both have their ups and downs and Mack played well in this game against his old team but overall Exum is a better player and is going to keep improving.
With that said I trust Snyder to develop him. I am sure the Jazz have a plan in place and expectations for Exum. I am sure they have things they want him to do on the court and I think Snyder is easing him into things and likes to be able to have him watch and be coached on the sidelines sometimes and to play more sometimes. I am not sure what his plan is but I know the Jazz and specifically Snyder really like Exum and want/expect him to succeed and be a solid player.
I would not be surprised at all if we trade Mack at the deadline. I doubt he is here next year. But maybe they like having him around for various reasons and keep him through this season.

That was about as dominant defensive performance as one will see. Outstanding, even if the 3rd quarter was god awfully ugly.

Our 3rd quarter wasn't pretty OFFENSIVELY. It was thing of ****ing beauty, though, overall.

The real question is this: When is Exum going to be a man and play like a man who wants the yoke more than Shelvin Mack?

What league is this? Is there really time to d!ck around with the back up PG minutes? Does Exum really want them? If he does, he has to out-play Shelvin. It's that simple.

Worrying about his confidence is ****ing teen-coddling. Look at what George Hill just did with the flu.

I think Snyder is right to play the guy who is hungry. When is Exum going to wake from his privileged coma and go rip those minutes away from the competition?

Isn't that what practice is for ? Anyway i don't disagree in principle, i just find it odd when someone who doesn't particularly move the needle as far as the team's fortunes present or future goes plays ahead of him.

I agree. Exum should play ahead of Mack. We don't really need Mack. Hopefully this is a once off thing. Mack knows Atlanta and all there plays since he played for them perhaps Quin thought it would be better to play him. But I don't really think Mack has made us better this year. Exum and rudy were the only positive during that losing streak.

I'm pretty sure most people think exum has well and truly deserved more minutes then mack.

What's the flu got to do with confidence?

Confidence is a mental thing, if I was exum and mack was getting minutes in front of me, then I would definitely be feeling a little disheartened.

The thing is exum has gone from starting 5 or 6 games in a row to basically a DNP.

Have the jazz had any close games so far this year? I can't think of any that were within like 3 or so points in the final minute.

So glad Superboy Howard is not on the team. He doesnt ever seem to care or play at 100%. Not since his Magic days at least.
I remember we were beating the Lakers or Houston badly a while back, and he was just laughing on the sidelines.

He is a loafer that is all about his name, and image.

Rudy is still hungry....

We need to trade him. He is not part of the future, not making a huge impact, and now blocking Dante's progress.

I want the rotation to be Hill, Exum, and Neto.
