Utah Jazz vs. Atlanta Hawks (6pm MST/9pm Puerto Ricoooo time)

I think for exum to get more time he needs to improve his playmaking. His assist numbers as a starting pg were atrociously bad.
And he has 4 steals this season. 4. On the season.

Not making plays on D (despite his overall good defense) and not making plays for teammates on O.

Remember the dudes that DWill got benched for his rookie season. He got benched because he was starting to hit the mid season rookie wall. A few years later Williams talked about how his benching angered him and still did, but looking back, he realized how it helped him. He played great near the end of the season after he regained his starting job later that year. I think at some point Exum plays more too. He's young, be patient.

actually i did wonder that today whether maybe Quin's trying to light a fire under him and roughen him up a little.

One thing that tells me he's not ready is the fact that he never got more then two assists as a starter playing between 27-35 mins a game. Only once did he play fewer then 27 mins. I'm sorry but our starting pg can't get only 1.5 assists in 29-30 mins a game.

Not talking about his rookie year by the way. I'm talking about all the games he started this year at pg while hill was out.

For those of you complaining about Quin not playing Exum, keep in mind, Exum has been Quin's guy from day one. Quin wanted to draft him and when Exum struggled as a rookie, Quin went to bat for him telling Lindsey he'd (Quin) develop him- make him great.

If Snyder isn't playing Exum, it's because he simply isn't good enough or he's trying to light a fire.

Snyder wants nothing more than for Dante to succeed, but dude has to make some plays.

The Exum thing...It sucks. I saw it coming though and I guess that's tempered my frustration. Mack is Quin's guy and Exum has had a rough patch. Exum was a player that was already struggling with confidence and this can't help. If Mack was a strong player it'd be different, but he's having a Trey Burke esque season so far and I don't know why he has so much more of a leash then Exum or Neto.

On the brightside, that was a dominant performance. The defense was locked in from start to finish. We were knocking them off their sets every time the court. It made them look like...the Jazz  Rudy was a force inside and Lyles/Diaw/Johnson held tough against Millsap.

Meh, if he will lose confidence just because he is sidelined by a better performer and he still has not proven that he is an NBA starter, it would be the right choice. Real winners have that unending competitive motor that does not need minutes to lighten it up.

That was about as dominant defensive performance as one will see. Outstanding, even if the 3rd quarter was god awfully ugly.

Quin on Exum/Mack:

Seems like he's saying Dante is out of the rotation... for now, but should be ready when called upon... and he's probably not happy with his defense.

If he's doing it because he feels Exum isn't playing hard enough or to send him a message that is fine. But his abnormal love of Shelvin Mack is ridiculous. He's played like a bonehead for large parts of the season, mixed in with a few good games.
