Utah Jazz vs. San Antonio Spurs 7/7/2015 @7pm Mountain Time *Official SL Game Thread*

Thing I really love about Hood is he has a shot for every situation. He could be double or triple teamed and still get off a great comfortable shot and look

Hayward probably 6th after you swap Draymond for PG13
Favors 7th or 8 after you insert Draymond and still have to put Timmy ahead of Derrick
and Gobert 6th after Drummond

I knew I was gonna make a lot of friends disagreeing but they're not that far off but still got their YET

Lol, so you wanted to nitpick about not top 5 and then say 2 of them are top 6? Gtfo. Don't act like top 5 on those 3 players was some silly homer comment. All 3 players are close enough to top 5 that you can make a legitimate case.

I like Kawhi, but I don't really think he's better than Hayward. Put Kawhi on an average team, and I don't think he can be a first or second-option offensive player. Great defender though. I could see an argument for Paul George being better than Hayward due to his length and defense, but it's worth seeing what he look like coming off that gruesome injury.

At center, I'm not sure Andre Drummond is better overall than Gobert. They're pretty close. Lets see what they look like this year. Gobert could also be a push with DAJ this year. DAJ has a few more moves in the post right now.

Kawhi is a transcendent defender, though. Like, waaaay good. I'd have a hard time taking Hayward over him, even with my homer goggles on.

Obviously Hayward can do things on O that Kawhi can't, but that defense... braugh, it's good.

Gimme Gobert over Drummond any day.

And let's not forget:
Rudy Gobert from the line last year = .623
Drummond + DAJ = .786

I wouldn't necessarily take Draymond over Hayward, but its close.

I would take Favors over both Love and Bosh next season and going forward and over Aldridge in 3.

I would place Gobert at 4 on that list. I wouldn't trade him for anyone on the list straight up (contracts included). I value D over O in a center and he is going to be the best defensive center in the NBA next year.

Gimme Favors over Aldridge right now. Today.

We have a top 5 SF, top 5 PF, and top 5 C on our roster, and we have Exum and Hood are you kidding me

If we have a top 5 SF, a top 5 PF, and a top 5 C then why the hell didn't we come close to sniffing the playoffs last year? Love my jazz, but c'mon man, take off the homer goggles... we're still a while away from competing.

Gobert > Drummond

As for the kawhi / hayward argument... give Kawhi as many touches/shots Hayward gets, and I'm sure he'd be putting up similar if not better offensive #s than Hayward. His offensive efficiency, combined with his scottie pippen-esque defense, places him above G-Time for me, and it's not all that close imho.

Because the rest of the roster was the statistically worst pg and a bunch of d-league players. Although I am not quite sure we have top 5 at all of those positions it is debatable and close to top 5. Enough that its not crazy to argue it. Where would you rank them? out of the top 10 at their positions? or are you ranking them top 6 or 7 and just claiming its homer to have your rankings slightly different by 1 or 2 spots?

The Jazz with Hayward, Favors, and Gobert all starting had a great record. Their net rating post all-star break was tied for 4th in the NBA. And that was with, statistically, one of the worst backcourts in the NBA.

Lol. It's almost like you have to bend over backwards to push the Jazz trio out of your top five, and even then you cannot push them very far. I understand your desire to temper your expectations and remain "realistic," but your argument makes it all the more obvious what an exciting era of Jazz basketball we are on the threshold of.
