Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

If Jabari get maxed they will not be able to bring back all of Bledsoe, Middleton, Brogdon... could always max Jabari and then Blake Griffin him next year if healthy. I think they are very likely to keep him at least into next year.
So maybe if the team signing him to an offer sheet included a NTC.

Let's play the hypothetical game here... let's say the Jazz trade Hood for Johnson. Exum's cap hold is 15mil... so what would it take to clear the space necessary to offer Jabari the max?

Waive our unguaranteed contracts and trade AB or Ricky for no returning salary.

Actually could get there by stretching AB if we waived Udoh, Jerebko, Thabo and Dante's cap hold. Then they match and we feel like the Kings.

I was pretty excited too... sorry man.
Too much "gotta trust in DL" stuff going around. I was pretty bold saying he's a top 3 GM and I don't think any of what's going to happen over the next couple weeks changes that, but I'm pretty certain we're closing out this month with nothing more than a JJ buyout. I just pray for everyone else's sake that with our #15 pick we don't get Lyles'd.

yep or swap second rounders. it's prob going to be very underwhelming Not happy Jan

I listened to Nate Duncan and Danny the other day talking about Aaron Gordon. I think he would be more likely to be available than Jabari. Orlando is headed nowhere and will be close to the tax next year... for a **** roster. They really need to re-re-rebuild but not sure new management will want to do that given the last few years...

Anywell they made it out like Gordon would get 18-19M maybe $20 and werent sure he was worth it... said his trade value would be like a mid round first.

I kind of thought it was a given they'd max him (or someone would), but thought maybe he is more available than originally thought. His shooting has really fallen off. Got me thinking.

Again:

Lyles became a damn good player, and he had value sufficient to get us Donovan Mitchell (who I take over Devin Booker).
