LOL... we can't give away our players right now. They've been on SALE for a good month, month and a half and still no takers.
Yep. A lot of the Rubio love coming from a lot of people who a couple weeks ago were about to jump off the cliff, thought for certain there'd be a trade, that the spacing was trash, and that we wouldn't win another game.I think the Rubio love is a little crazy right now... he’s been very good I’m happy about it... let’s see how it works long term. AB was great for a period of 5 or so games then it all went to hell. I think there is something real to his recent play but the shot has proven to run hot and cold. Last year he shot 44% on 3s in March. Last 10 games he’s shot 45% from 3... it will regress.
Enjoy it now but also realize that some of it is flukey and may not be sustainable. I’d be excited if it was doe.
Players rarely get traded before the deadline so that makes sense. I am sure the Jazz are waiting for the best deal and those come right at the deadline. But if a good enough deal doesnt come, we all know DL is happy standing still.LOL... we can't give away our players right now. A star like all the big rigs out there won't happen. You won't be able to trade for the number one option on any team. By star, I mean any reliable starter who can perform night in and night out and who mesh well with Gobert and Mitchell. That's hard to find, for all we know, that third guy we are looking for could already by on our team. We are still really young, with some pretty solid talent without any big names.
How in the hell are the Thunder going to trade for Burks? I see no contracts that the jazz would want.
How do u suggest we trade for a third star?
So then, not a star.
Take that deal and run. It gives you insurance at the 4 if you don’t land anyone next summer. Patterson and Jerebko? We’d be fine.Patrick Patterson and Kyle singler... I’d do it. Maybe sub in AA for 2 pat... I think they are crazy though. Patterson has been bad but he’s coming off surgery and is a really functional player on a reasonable deal.

I don't think Patterson would be involved. Abrines and Singler are extremely expendable. If we added Patterson, we probably don't get anything back in terms of draft compensation.
At this point, do the Jazz trade for anything? Not just because we've been hot lately, but approaching this trade deadline, there are far more sellers than buyers right now. Would we even get an upgrade if we trade the players we are talking about who should be traded? At this point, all I see is if we trade, its either to get a young asset/pick, or we are trying to get something in return for a departing free agent.
I think we would be absolutely silly if we passed on any draft compensation at all for Burks. O'Neale has rendered Burks all but worthless unfortunately. If we bring back similar contracts and a future draft pick, even heavily protected, it's worth it.
As for other guys, I just don't know. It's really hard to know. One thing is certain - Hood is one of the best players being shopped. His situation is better than Jordan, Lou Williams, Bradley, Tyreke Evans all of those guys because he's younger and the team getting him will have his restricted free agent rights. Those other guys are unrestricted free agents. A team might have their Bird Rights, but that doesn't mean they have a really good chance to keep them.
