Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

At least with Bullock, we are replacing the shooting we lose on the wings from dealing Hood. He has enough size to play the 3 too (6'7 w/ a 6'10 wingspan). I just think Detroit would be hesitant to deal 2 wings to get 1 wing. They are alreay at a wing deficit (only have 5 on the roster, will only have 4 if they deal Johnson and Bullock).

I think you could, but Johnson would have to be a 4. It wouldnt be idea ltho.

I think the following lineup could work: Rubio, Mitchell, Ingles, Johnson, Gobert. Sure, we lack a shooter just like with Favors, but Johnson's athleticism cutting, crashing, screening and rolling would be helpful. We would also be better on the break.

Stanley was my homer pick in that draft. I still think he could figure it out; if he could be had cheap, then I'd scoop him up. Swapping Hood for him isn't cheap, so Hell No to that. I agree with Hantlers, though: having O'Neale already in-the-fold reduces the interest in Stanley.

Hood better get us a first.

Yeah Detroit needs wing talent but they need cheap wing talent. Would seem kind of weird that they would shoot for a guy who is about to hit free agency, especially if they gave up the cheap wing talent they do have (Johnson, Kennard) to get him.

But trading for Blake doesn't really make sense either so who knows.

IDK I think if you aren't bringing back a shooter you should just start Jerebko. No more half measures or bad lineups. Haha I just realized that even bringing in a shooting 4 is still kind of a half measure with Rubio still out there. You really need 4 shooters and Rudy.

"Hey Niko, c'mhere. Did you know you have a lower leg issue?"
Jazz meeting Bulls to finalize the deal for Niko...

DL: "We are hearing Niko has a lower leg issue.... how about you include a couple of seconds to assuage our worries."

In the short term, you could just play Jerekbo. I'm thinking more long term. Johnson has shown a ton of potential as a defender who is able to switch onto smaller players. A defensive weapon like that is essential in today's NBA. If we had him, Jingles, Thabo, O'Neale as SF/PF guys who can defend small lineups, we would be well served. Guys like Draymond and Iggy make GS unique because they can go small without losing defense. We could have the same ability with a number of guys since we don't have the top quality Draymond provides.
