Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

Why do you feel the need to repeat the same exact point dozens of times? I mean, you even acknowledge that you're running like a broken record on this. Do you not find that behavior irritating when others do it?
I’d assume you’ve poked around JF enough to see this is a common theme here, no?

I just hope he doesn't go to Cleveland. I am holding out hope that we can somehow get a deal done with the Cavs. Maybe get Love. Kinda a good news, bad news scenario. I wish we could have Fav for the long-term if he is going to sign with us but if he is gone, I want to get something for him. If we can get Love, we would pretty much be looking to next year getting a better draft position and getting Love for the future.
Whoever mentioned Favors, Hood and Rubio for Love; I’d do that. Three weeks ago people would have given their right arm for that.

This is where we need to swing big, save every penny and go all in on multiple guys.
Was that stacked? Klay is good, but outside of a few restricted guys and a few who might opt out, I didn't see much. Kyrie and Kawhi are interesting, obviously, but I really doubt we have a chance on those guys.

Udoh out for "personal reasons". Man, that sounds like trade talks. Would be a good fit in Cleveland. If Utah wants to keep Favors for this year, selling on Udoh makes sense w/ Bradley in line for the backup minutes next year.

I dont see anything we could get for Udoh that would be worth trading him for. They are not giving up a 1st. There is no player I want from Cavs that they are trading for him and Udoh is worth more to us than a 2nd.

Unless he is part of a bigger trade involving more players than I dont see why we would trade him.

1. He would get a 2nd round pick or two
2. He isnt going to every play anything but spot minutes if the Jazz don't trade Favors
3. The Jazz used a first round pick to draft Tony Bradley, who has been great in the G-League. I'm sure they want to give him minutes next year, maybe even some spot minutes this year. Hard to do that with Udoh.
4. He might get you a first if you package him with Hood. Udoh packaged w/ Hood might have more value to teams than Favors packaged w/ Hood because of how cheap Udoh is this year and next. You can have them both on your roster next year.

I think it makes more sense to clear Favors for Udoh rather than the other way around.

Just my $0.02.

Not following.

Favors is hard to move and get fair value back. The Jazz dont want to give away a starter for a 2nd round pick.

Udoh on the other hand, is a rotation player who cant play when the team is fully healthy (37 minutes in 9 games since Gobert's return juts cuz of blowouts mostly). So you can move him for a 2nd and it feels better because he was a cheap pickup. It feels like a good flip job. Plus he plays the same position as a guy you traded up for in the first round to get, who is killing it in the G-League. You need to open up minutes for him.

These are the guys I like (and yes it is "stacked", not many FA classes have this much top end talent)

Kawhi Leonard
Jimmy Butler
Eric Bledsoe
https://www.basketball-reference.co...n=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-
Ricky Rubio https://www.basketball-reference.co...n=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-
Kemba Walker
Klay Thompson

Tobias Harris

Devin Bookerhttps://www.basketball-reference.co...n=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-
Kelly Oubre Jr.
Justise Winslow
Jordan Bell
https://www.basketball-reference.co...n=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-
Kristaps Porzingis
Kyrie Irving
Harrison Barnes

Khris Middleton
Kevin Love

Take away; Porzingis, Kyrie, Booker and Klay (who I dont think we have a chance at), the rest should be targets.

Also, these super max deals are going to get teams in trouble before long. Take a look at John Walls contract, its just not viable to compete when someone takes 35% of your cap. I expect him to be on the move before the end of next season.
