Utah's Alec Burks will not need immediate shoulder surgery

This sucks. I really wanted to see Burks grow with our core this year.

I swear the other night when he hurt his shoulder, I saw his shoulder come out of place and go back in. Almost like Enes a couple years ago but wasn't stuck out of place like his. I could be wrong though. But it sure looked like it.

A minute ago Alema Harrington accidentally said "There are rumors on twitter that it could be a career ending injury" A few seconds later he said "sorry season ending, not career" I almost **** myself.

Lol. Alemma Harrington said on the pre game that it was a career ending injury. The. He corrected himself.

@DJJazzyJody: Multiple sources have told me that Jazz guard Alec Burks definitely needs surgery on his left shoulder — either now or next offseason.

Do you guys remember when Genessy was tweeting that Jim Boylen was the "frontrunner" to be the Jazz head coach? Does anyone else get the feeling that Genessy's "source" just enjoys trolling him hard?

Maybe his source is Burks, for both then and now.

I don't post as much as I'd like on here, but I've always been a huge burks homer. I hope woj is right about him coming back in 2 weeks. Just as long as it doesn't hurt him long term. He needs time badly to improve. Court time in Snyders system.

If it's his labrum - it's a no brainer (especially in lieu of extension) to get surgery now and rehab rather than risk ****ing it up permanently by playing this season. It looks like the season is already a lost cause in terms of making the playoffs, so as much as I want to cry about my favorite Jazz man having a potential breakout season delayed, it is better for his career if he opts for surgery.
Keeping fingers crossed. It was "bad" luck like this that started the Spurs' dynasty. They had some decent players, but injuries gave them the worst record in the very year Duncan entered the draft. Now it's unlikely Utah finishes with the worst record (Philly should have that locked up). Just imagine if the Jazz could get Towns or Okafor. WOW! And Philly may decide to go with Mudiay since they already have Noel and Embiid. So perhaps a top-3 pick gives Utah one of those bigs. Hey, even drafting Mudiay wouldn't be a disaster.

Sucks about Alec, but it does help Hood establish himself, maybe even as a starter, with Alec easing back into the lineup next season as the 6th man.

I bet Burks comes back and has surgery in the off season aka April.
Hope this isn't a case where one of the opinions was that it MIGHT get better with rest and rehab, but it never does heal quite right and Alec decides on surgery next summer and is out until after Christmas.
