Utes 2011 Football Discussion

Seems to me people have just been asking you to put your money where your mouth is, re: This thread. That is, are you willing to bet that Utah will win 10+ games or not? A willingness to bet that they'll win 1 after stating that they should win 10 is pretty ****ing vanilla, dude.

It's no shock that Salty's all talk, no action. If he has true faith in Utah, he'd put his money where his mouth is. But he's sacless like some other member on this site who pom poms about the 49ers day and night.

Hey, Salty, I'll bet you $100 that Florida State has more wins next year than Utah. If they tie, it's a push.

Awaiting the predictable, "the Pac 12 is a million times better than the ACC so no way, that's a stupid bet" reply.

Nothing circular about it. If you're going to call me a delusional homer, let's see how knowledgeable you really are. And if you want me to do the same, I'll list BYU losses.

I'm going to change my view from Homer to Barney.

I don't see myself as a Homer, but more of a Bart.

Cool. So if Utah wins 10+ regular season games, I pay you $100. If not, we're square. Yes?
Again, I never offered to make an over/under bet. I offered to bet on who knew what they were talking about if someone disagreed with me.

I'm not interested in a "call him a homer constantly, and he would have been right except the Utes got in a plane crash and forfeited a few games they would have otherwise won" situation. No getting lucky and backing into it. If you know what you're talking about, prove it.

I'm not looking for a "keep the season interesting by hoping the Utes can get to 10 wins" bet. I'm looking for a "shut the haters up once and for all by making them prove they don't know ****" bet.

Again, I never offered to make an over/under bet.
Never said you did. You did say "I don't see how Utah loses more than 2 regular season games (if that)". If you don't see how they could do worse than 10 wins, shouldn't you be willing to make that bet?

Or can you see how they could lose more than 2 regular season games?

1. I never called you a homer.

2. I'm willing to make the bet with the caveat that it's a push if the team gets into a plane crash and has to forfeit a few games.

Either way, I guarantee Florida State will have an equal to or better record than Utah next year. And if Salty had any set, he'd bet me on it. Unfortunately for us, we all know he doesn't.

Right, I can't see how they lose more than 2. And as I said in the post, I think the haters will have a hard time picking more than 2 losses.

And if someone is calling me out on that prediction, they can demonstrate their knowledge by showing exactly why I am wrong. It's not about some hater getting lucky when coach Whitt retires mid season.

You're looking for an over/under bet with the sole purpose of getting lucky and possibly winning. I'm looking for proof of your knowledge so next time you call me a delusional homer, and say Utah is the Colorado State of the Pac 12, I can remind you that you don't know ****. (and, again, none of this was meant for you)

I just wanted to point out that Mr. Non-Homer paid me $25.00 for losing our last be re: Utah and their losses. It is no wonder he doesn't want to do it again -- he may look/act/sound/type dumb, but he's far from it.

That being said, I DO want to make some money this season, so I'll make another thread and hope that a TRUE Ute fan has the stones to take the bet.

Why am I more likely to be lucky than you? I have to weigh the odds as well, and I'm not 100% certain of the outcome, as you've claimed you are.

A simple "yes" will suffice.

So you're not willing to back up your 10+ wins statement. Is that correct?
