What's new

Video Game Thread

The new Dragon Age is so good, I can't stop playing it.
I heard that it was maybe a little too easy on standard difficulty, and that it's easy to end up way overleveled for certain areas/missions. But I'm looking forward to playing it eventually. Everyone seems to like it.

It's fine. Just don't spend all your time in hinterlands to start the game. I'm playing on hard and I've had multiple encounters that were dark souls boss hard. I spent a good 3 hours on the 1st dragon. As far as RPG's go it's perfect, first offline game I've played to really capture that MMO feeling.

Cool, sounds like I'll just have to play it on the higher difficulty...

Well, it just so happened that Amazon was offering Dragon Age for $45 today only -- a Cyber Monday Gold Box deal. I just noticed about five minutes ago, and about fifteen minutes before the deal ended. So, uh, yeah... now I have that too. :)

Getting really frustrated with Telltale's Game of Thrones. I have been shot like 20 times no matter how hard I try to move my mouse upwards.

OK, I am stupid. It was telling me to press up.

Wolf Among Us only got worse. I think there is probably too much Walking Dead game greatness residue influencing the review scores on that one. Also, I played a few hours of the earlier Assassins Creed games and they are surprisingly bad. I pumped up Black Flag earlier in this thread, but I guess that's the only AC game I like.

Portal 2 is worthy of everything good ever said about it though. Currently playing that.

Yeah, as I know I've said previously, I really didn't like the first Assassin's Creed, and I liked the second one only enough to finish it once. I didn't buy the third one, but I just started playing Black Flag two days ago and I'm liking it pretty well. The ship stuff really adds to it. I also started enjoying myself more when I stopped trying to avoid unnecessary kills and just started slaughtering everyone.

I just, recently, found time to pick up and play through the DLC for Dark Souls 2. Has anyone tried it out?
I liked it. Most of it was a bit better than the main game, I thought.

I had a really tough time beating those three thief boss guys. I played the DLC on playthrough 2 and that fight kicked my ***.
