I don't know the number but if you're super rich (like 50 million per year) then you should get taxed like a mother ****er.

This would be my logical choice, and I've always been against voting against a certain candidate rather than for one who's views match mine. But with outspoken candidates like Trump and Sanders on the table that are so different from what we've been getting in the past elections I might be willing to roll with one of them and see what comes out of this circus act. Stir the pot!
 
I'm not an expert by any means, but when I hear "loopholes" I think people are way oversimplifying. Most "loopholes" require that the person or company use their money in a more productive, mutually beneficial way and in using their money in a way our government desires they get a reduction in their tax.

So close loopholes and don't provide incentives for people with money to use their money in a way that benefits society as a whole. Just take the money and do what we want with it. Maybe that's better, but I'm sure it's complicated enough that no one can really know.

Why? How is that "fair"? Take that same exact premise and reverse the target. Is it still fair?

Now I am not saying there are no changes to be made but targeting one group to benefit the majority is not fair.

I agree that it is easier to say than actually do. I am sure some loopholes are actually good ideas. But I think a full review should be done so we can decide what we do and do not want to keep.

I don't care about fair. Life aint fair. Nobody needs that kind of money. Those ceo's that make that kind of money get sent on lavish vacations for free by their customers. They eat free at restaurants.

While someone busting their *** for peanuts has to pay for everything that they get. Is that fair?

I agree with that for the 1%ers that have taken advantage of the rigged economic system we live in (I'm looking at the top bankers, credit bureau directors, top insurance company CEO's), but not for well meaning businessmen that are creating jobs. Overtaxing them could mean having to lower salaries or even worse, having to take their business elsewhere.

I think a big problem is most people don't know what the loopholes are, or how they work. Then they hear loopholes, scream bloody murder, and get pissed without knowing why.

We use some loopholes for our farm. We get tax credits or we can deduct certain things up to a certain limit, if we say decide to put a building up or we buy a tractor and we can depreciate all of it in one year. Things like that. We pay less taxes that way. You know what we would do with that money if it all went to taxes? We wouldn't put buildings up (or not as many), we wouldn't buy as much equipment as we do. So who does that hurt? That hurts other businesses, who employ people. Wonder what happens to those employees if people have to pay more taxes and buy less things because of it? So explain to me why these loopholes are bad. I'd love to hear it.

No and I am open to discussing way to improve their lives. Such as education, wage increases, healthcare improvements and encouraging small businesses.

Good for them..
