I'm just some random person. And this is just my opinion.

We treat history in schools so we don't repeat it. My opinion is that you educate about institutional racism that is known to have existed. There are tangible historical facts related to unacceptable actions of the past.

But there is zero reason privilege should ever be "taught". Privilege is such a moving target without the tangibles. If history is taught, and we learn from history, the message should be that everybody should just be treated the same. Period. No reason to getting into motives and emotions which will drive students, classes, society apart.

Once we start singling out one group of people, we start a slippery slope. Why not just address the known, tangible mistakes of our government and leaders and not get into the emotions of it all? I think all it does is divide.

You literally said that the only thing that should be taught about racism is that groups of people were mistreated and it's from the native Americans to the Muslims at 9/11. You seem to think racism is just people being mean to each other. Should serious conversations not be taken literally or do I have to just assume you arent a moron with every word I read and post edit so things actually make sense.

Like should we not teach the massive amount of economic impact of slavery (and yes, slavery still exist, it's called the prison-industrial complex and it still disproportionally affects minorities due to the position systematic racism has put them in) and how much wealth that created for whites in this country, which still has massive massive impacts on equality? because that certainly ties into privilege, which by your standards is a no-no to be taught in school. You seem to think we should neuter the truth just so people can be homogeneous? That the only thing that should be taught is "be cool to each other and everything will be cool"?
