Remember, pizza is a vegetable.
I never understood the flak that Mrs. Obama received with her school lunch program. A program that was and is funded by the government.
It's obvious that as Americans we have a problem with obesity. I mean, take a picture of most of the posters here on this board and no doubt you'd see that the majority of them are of the rotund variety. It's obvious we have a problem with eating healthy and exercising. Diabetes, heart disease, cancer are all issues we as a population share. There are so many ****ing fat people who eat like **** everyday and would roll over and die if you asked them to run a mile. These same people become dependent on drugs to help them be more "healthy" be regulating their levels. Instead of eating better and exercising, Americans go for the quick fix while at the same time a lot of their discretionary spending goes to health related costs. This quick fix mentality carries over to the financial aspects of their life and their financial discipline is hurt as a result. Most Americans are financially illiterate and it shows with many of the decisions many of us make.
Anyway, back to Mrs. O and her idea to make school lunches healthier. So many articles came out at the time that reported on kids "boycotting" the meals and kids hating the vegetables. No doubt that maybe the preparation of these types of foods in large quantities left something to be desired but since when are kids the ones who decide what they should eat? If it were up to kids, they'd be eating pizza or hamburgers for every meal of the day while washing it back with a 20oz of Coke.
I supported Mrs. O in her quest to bring more healthy options to our kids. I still support her. I also support Americans heating healthier, exercising more and becoming more financially literate.
In respect to feeling and looking better, I know I've posted this article before, but it's definitely a must read:
