What's new

We should all root for the Jazz these final games, because next season is The Year of the Tank

Tank was used to mean different things, for example:
To trade vets for picks.
or
To play youth more, vets less, even though the youth might make more mistakes in the short run.
.
The concept was used humorously mostly. A picture of a tank is hardly an argument.
Calls for the players to intentionally lose games were extremely rare, if they ever occurred at all. I think you are reading meanings that were not there, and if they were there, you are exaggerating their prevalence.

There were some threads that expressed a desire to get better picks, but calls for players throwing games to do that were very rare.

If the depth next year is like this:

signed PG vet/draft PG
Burks/Foye
Hayward/Carroll/Marvin
Favors/Evans
Kanter/signed FA

they won't sniff the playoffs, but that team will not tank.

There were several posters here openly calling for tanking and losing on purpose to increase our draft pick. They were not calling for playing our core but straight up losing on purpose. SHAMEFUL

Are there?

The thing some people miss is, Big Al may look great in certain games, and he may look great if you only look at the stats, however it is a proven fact that he is not a winner, he can't be the main guy in a contender, if you guys are fine being a playoff team who is swept in first round in the upcoming years, fine then lets keep Al, but i am not on the same boat, i would say we have to Tank so bad next year, and draft a good young to team up with Hayward, Enes and Favors and let Mo, Al, Foye walk in order to be a contender in 2-3 years, otherwise we will be watching the same story as last 10 years.
(P.S. Thinking logically, making playoffs this year will bring us no good but a delusion that we are a good team)
