We don’t get the Lakers first without them giving up Russell. The Lakers obviously wouldn’t have done it with Conley instead or else we would have just dealt directly with them.
They facilitated the trade brother. Without them the Lakers don't give the Jazz ****
They gave up what most would consider the best player in the deal that was the one the Lakers wanted most; we got the best asset in the trade by a light year.
I wish it was better and I’m confident the Jazz could’ve gotten better before the season with Bogey (I think Ainge was demanding both Laker picks). Oh well. If the question is whether we do the trade deadline deal or not as a straight binary, I do the trade 8 days a week.

When you're asset rich and teams know what you want, they are going to squeeze you. You got to accept it to an extent or you are just going to sit on your assets and have them expire/devalue.
We squeezed Minny on the Gobert trade and they returned the favor to a far lesser degree.

Exactly. Without Minnesota there is no deal and they knew that. They squeezed NAW and seconds out of us to get it done.
LA had the most pressure to get it done. LA should have, at the very least, forwarded our down payment to Minnesota.

In addition to the other stuff people mentioned. We got 24M in cap space next year out of the deal. It isn't a great deal but it was good enough to suit our purpose (to tank the effs outta this mutha!!!)

I haven’t seen him take many tbh. If anybody can teach him though it’s got to be Jet and Horny!
It seems like we’ve turned into a finishing school for itinerant fringe prospects. Hopefully, this time we’re not preparing him for somebody else cause he’s already way ahead of any college prospect we might get in the draft and dam it I want to compete next season and no good reason why with our talent, we shouldn’t be IMO.
