Week 3 College Football Discussion

Isn't it more likely that they are the team that has played 3 gimmie games, rather than the one game where everything falls apart in the second half? BYU probably won't blow many teams out because of their offensive problems, but I wouldn't go around predicting any more *** hands either. Their defense is good enough to prevent that, especially against a team like Utah State who is just looking to run the whole game. Let's see if Utah State can even beat Colorado State first today because they are still 0-1 against all teams not named Weber State after all, though I've liked what I've seen of them up until this point.

Utah St. is the best team in the state this year. Yes, better than that Utah team in the "Conference of Champions."

And that BYU offense, still is hellishly horrible and boring.

Doman was a huge mistake. Sorry, but it's true. Even Mike Leach called Doman out yesterday on the radio.
And Heaps hasn't progressed. The kid still cannot throw with any touch, is nervous, and slow with the reads. If you were to actually pay attention to the offense, you'd notice that the pass timing is off. 3-step drops are slow enough to be 5 or 7-step. While the longer drops are being thrown too quickly, as if they're 3-steps. Heaps has missed so many passes down the seam because he's throwing it too hard and too quickly.

AS jazzman12 stated, Heaps is gonna need to accept some of the responsibility now for this POS offense. The kid talked a good show, but hasn't come close to delivering thus far. Doman? He was supposed to bring back a prolific offense. So far I've seen Anae's shotgun offense mostly, except even more conservative than before.

Personally, I have questions that Heaps will ever be that good. I have serious doubts about that body part between the ears.

It doesn't matter how strong of an arm you have, if you cannot manage the game, you'll always be a very inconsistent QB. Maybe that's why both Anae and Doman haven't "taken the leash off?" Ever thought about that? Perhaps these coaches know something that we don't....

There's no reason why a team returning 10 offensive starters should be struggling to average more than ONE TD PER GAME.

Utah St. will beat BYU. They have the best RB in the state, a very good dual threat QB, and some speedy WRs.

Without that once in every 13 year runbacks, BYU would have been in a tie ballgame yesterday. Don't expect another next Friday to save our butts...

And this is coming from a pretty solid BYU fan folks. This offense is terrible

Well, great job Utah State. You outgain Colorado State by triple digits yet let them stay in the game by fumbling 4 times. I will give props to Gary Anderson for having the sack to go for 2 in OT even though it didn't work out. I think this shows that Utah is indeed the best in-state school. No way CSU leaves SLC with a W.

With that being said, I still think the Aggies are better than BYU and will head into Provo with the intentions of making a statement coming off such a bad loss.

I like balsy football coaches as much as the next guy, but I think you pull that move if the @ Auburn game would have gone that way. Not against Colorado State at home where the odds were more in your favor the longer you drew the game out. They had no resistance whatsoever from the Colorado State defense when given 4 plays from the 25, or a chance to get a couple of first downs and 4 more plays; their running attack was unstoppable at that point. No need to make it a 1 play game when you can have 12 or 8 or 4 or however many it takes you to score against that weak defense. Utah State could have kept scoring all night.

Utah State will lose by at least 21 at BYU. BYU's defense is good enough to shut them down.

Can Southern Utah now replace Utah State as everyone's in-state darling this year? They waxed UNLV 41-16. Granted, UNLV sucks every year, but that's still pretty cool for them and speaks well for the talent at the high school level in Utah considering their roster is pretty much an amalgamation of the "unwanteds" of the 3 bigger Northern Utah schools.

I'm down if you want to make a rushing yards bet. I'm not as confident in the spread of 21 points. What kind of bet? Av/Sig bet or money?

Utah State averages 316 yards/game on the ground. I'll define "shutting them down" as cutting that in half. So if Utah state runs for less than 158 yards, I win. More than that, you win. Taking?

Perhaps you should do one of 2 things:

1- Either grow a sack and back up your original statement that BYU will win by at least 21 points,

or.....

2- Stop saying silly **** that you obviously don't believe.

Conan, I apologize. You are not the most foaming at the mouth, out of your mind Y fan on the board. That honor is very clearly Mr. Duck Rodgers'.

Please. I'm not going to give somebody on an Internet forum a line that is 3X bigger than the Vegas' line, where it's questionable they would even pay out anyway. I think the bet I proposed for rushing yards was fair, and it's something I can't bet on in Vegas so it would actually interest me. I wasn't the one proposing the bet, and who knows if even he was. A lot people use that term casually.
