Folks, it's over.
Twenty-five point lead in the 3rd to close out the series...and you blow it! I've played sports, I watch sports, I know sports. It is over. Done. Utah Jazz can not, will not overcome that choke.
We've seen the movie before. Most famous example: Boston Red Sox 1986...Bill Buckner, through the legs. After that you just knew they were going to drop the series. You choke big time, you lose. There is no overcoming it.
I am wearing my Hayward t-shirt today because I won't have a chance to wear it until October. The Jazz are done.

Playoff games are largely independent events. Past performance doesn't necessarily indicate future performance, otherwise how to explain series that go multiple games. After game 4, there was some rumbling in the Twitter/Blog-O-Sphere that the Thunder were dispirited and defeated. Now the rumbling is going in the opposite direction. What does it mean? Not much, it turns out.
On a semi-related topic, I hope I never reach the point in life where I feel compelled to go on other team's discussion boards (and teams with which my team has no rivalry and which are entirely tangential to my fandom) and troll. I mean, who the hell does that? That's the fandom equivalent of moving back into your parents' basement at 30+ years old.

I think the people who use alts to troll have some mental issues. They're like the kids in school who like to give the teacher a hard time and think it's funny. It's really very nasty behavior and far worse than people using profanity, and something I think the mods ought to take action to stop.

Uhh, I see you didn't notice that after that monumentally embarrassing choke job on Wednesday night (up 25 in the 3rd quarter of a close out game...AND YOU LOSE!), I did not come here to rub salt in your wounds. I ain't that type of dope.

Uhh, I guess you haven't noticed but the Jazz season ended Wednesday night and Melo was the key.
His line for the night:

That low of 25 minutes was the key. And if you don't understand why, I'll use the words of the great American Winston Churchill to explain why:

You supposedly "know sports" yet you can't see that the Jazz have clearly been the better team all series? Better defensively, better offensively, controlling the glass, getting more assists, have better roster balance.

Do you have some friends that are Knicks fan? Perhaps you can catch a Knicks playoff game this year? Oh crap they weren't good enough to make it again? Perhaps invite them over for tonight's game? Well, I think I can end this discussion: Win or lose, it will be a positive for the Jazz, for their championship hopes are in the future.
For OKC, if they lose, it will be over for their franchise, at least in the foreseeable future, for they will be faced with a rebuild. The chemistry of the three stars hasn't been that good, and Carmelo looks about done -- you can see it in his face; he doesn't look like he has that desire any longer, to work so that he can maintain the level of his play.
Losing will provide the Jazz motivation for their future championship. Either way, it's a great experience in preparation for the years ahead when they challenge for the NBA championship.
