For all the flaws in Jameer's game (and there are many), he's still better than West. You're right that DW is a better defender, but JN still runs a better offense than West does. West is more of a combo guard; he barely runs an offense at all. He plays the 2 more often anyway.

EDIT: Also, West is categorically insane.
