What's new

What are the minimal accomplishments needed this season to satisfy you?

Win 45 games and at least one in the playoffs. I really want 50 and win a series, but I'll be satisfied if we get 45 and win one game

This is depressing and I'm not sure we will welcome you aboard the hype train.

49 wins. Anything less will be disappointing to me unless we win a playoff series.

Barring injuries, I want to see the Jazz get to the 2nd round and make a solid competitive push in that round, even if they are ousted 4-1.

Some of you have pretty high basement expectations for this team. The most minimally satisfied outcome for me would be getting the 8th seed.

To me, this minimal improvement, given our huge roster upgrades, is unacceptable. At that rate, we could maybe eventually won an NBA title with this core by 2024.

2017) First round series win this season--win a game in second round
2018) First round series win with second round loss in seven games OR second round series win (WCF sweep would be fine in this case)
2019) First and second round series' wins w/ two or three wins in WCF
2020) NBA Finals win

That's the timeline about which I'm thinking.

Hayward will be 30. Favors 28. Gobert 27. Hood 27. Exum 24. That's a pretty seasoned group that will have had a lot of time together to grow and get to that point yet not old and worn down. They'd be right in their primes. By this point, Kevin Durant and his bad feet will be 31 with a ton of NBA miles on them. Curry will be 32 and who knows how his ankles will be. If they even have those two AND Thompson AND Green, who knows. And I'm not worried abut the Spurs or anyone else tbh. We can stick together and grow and win it all in 2020.

Two possible roadblocks with that timeline
1) We will be paying so much in luxury tax before 2020 it's insane.
2) Someone in that core you mentioned better become a star player because if not we'll never reach that Finals.
