What are your top 3 places to hang out in SLC?

Any of you guys been to the creamatory near federal heights? I have a fond memories of being a kid and going up there with my friends in the summer where we would eat a dime-sack of... sandwiches. Memories, *sigh*

Long time lurker here. Not sure why I picked this topic to respond to..But, all slc nightlife here.

The Hotel can be fun, as long as you do the upstairs part and not the little Mexico party that goes on downstairs. The Huka Bar is pretty chill, I don't smoke myself but it's a fun place to just hang out. You get some weird *** people at The Complex and The Depot, not as much my scene, although Chris Benoit's DJ'ing is pretty good. If I want to watch a bunch of girls who think they're attractive trying to seduce me with their moves, I'll go watch some amateur porn and avoid the diseases. In all seriousness though, they can be fun if you're in THAT kind of a mood, but I'm not a huge dancer so it's a rare thing for me. If anything I'll do the 80's night here and there where it's people my own age and aren't a bunch of cougars all over the place. Haven't been to the Skybar, but I'd like to try it. There's the W Lounge, another pretty chill place. A lot of the actor/model people go there, that's how I was introduced to it. There's a lot of fun restaurant/hang outs up in Park City plus they have the Alpine Slides, Ziplines, and all that stuff, it's just a little out of the way.

I'm still new to being 21, so I'm no expert on the bars out here, but there's a lot of fun places to hang out and adventure. Geocaching in Salt Lake is a blast, whether you go to Memory Grove, the SLC Cemetary, and a few of the smaller parks out there. And then there's always the scary/haunted/abandoned places like Heritage Park (this place is trippy at night), Gravity Hill, Hobbitville, Ted Bundy's place, The Old Mill, the rubble lot from the burned down house where the cult members died off of Wasatch, the abandoned mental hospital, the devil worshipers on the roof...all of that fun stuff.

We're not the best club/party place in the world, but there's a lot to do and see here that can be a lot of fun. Plus we have some really cool, personal music venues that provide great shows.

what's all this love for the Gateway? that place is pure ballz stooopid.

I don't live in town anymore, and the only thing I miss are the canyons and southern Utah. Damn fine places, those.

I am annoyingly bumping this ancient thread to vouch for city creek. It is very pretty. I love the vibe. And if Scat thinks Gateway got plenty of summer candy, just wait till you see city creek!

+8 for LDS church for building it. It makes downtown SLC better.

My wife and I went to Trolley Square last Saturday and what a dead zone. There is absolutely nothing going on there. They've turned the atrium area into one large Humane Society full of barking dogs that echo throughout the building. Very annoying.

I've never been to Trolley Square since the shootings. Also Fashion Place mall is so much better now that it's been redone.

Trolley Square has never figured as a destination except to the locals, the eastside aves, norheast bench and Liberty Park area. And in recent years nineth/nineth has actually become an "in" spot. Sugarhouse figures as a major shopping/entertainment destination on the whole eastside. Sugarhouse Park beats Liberty Park too. Foothill village is also a better shopping destination than Trolley Square.

I love the hills behind the UUMC, where I worked for some years. Especially on a coolish spring day when it's grass not mud. The Bonneville Shoreline trail is one of the best hikes/runs in the State.

I was at the Fashion Place Mall a week or so ago...didn't look all that redone to me. Had it been more than 25 years since you were there last?

The Beerhive -- HUGE! selection of beers. The bar has ice inlayed in the counter-top to keep drinks cold.
The Red Door -- Small bar, my friend and I were ordering Hendricks Martinis. It was pretty nice, with great bartenders who know thier ****.

This is the kind of stuff I miss about drinking. I loved going to little out-of-the-way places and discovering cool people and different atmospheres.

The Green Pig for its BURGER
Fashion place mall is really nice
Club elevate is a nice place, meet a lot of people from Colorado there over the weekend

I know the ladies are raving about City Creek center, but I can't afford anything there. Plus I heard you can't even have any tattoos showing in the area LOL
I know a lot of my white buddies like the Westerner (but obviously I don't fit in)
Went to piper down once, pretty chill
area 51 on thursday if you are creeper
club allure for good laughs or easy chicks, ghetto.... though
Park city if you want a romantic evening with the lady, ate at the riverhorse, Newpark resort has hotel rooms with jacuzzis for decent price
I never touched Trolley Square since the tragedy....I am very sad to think about what happened there.
