What's new

What do Jazzfanz want to see happen this offseason?

- For the Jazz to become more of a defensive team. Learn how to guard Pick&Roll. Also, learn to defend the post. I think we might be the only team that doesn't front the post or at least make the post player battle for position
- Get lucky and draft Irving or D-will2. Then with the 12th pick get Jordan Hamilton. If we don't get lucky in the lottery, get Biyombo or Kanter or Brandon Knight
- Don't sign Elson, Price, AK, Fes
- Give Miles 1 last year and re sign Watson *If you get a wing in draft and pick up a wing or 2 in FA, then dont re sign Miles
- Have Millsap either get trained to play the 3 or be the 6th man
- Trade Okur and Bell for whatever you can get or picks
- Make a play for these SG/SF's and take 1-2 of them: Jamal Crawford, Rasual Butler, Caron Butler, Aaron Affalo, Wilson Chandler, Michael Redd, Marco Bellinelli, J-Rich, Grant Hill, Marcus Thorton, Nick Young, DeShawn Stevenson
- Get a back up C: Ajinca, Dalembert, Dampier, Ratliff, DeAndre or Tyson Chandler (would trade Big Al if we got either), Pryzbilla, Troy Murphy

My dream FA depth chart

Harris, Watson, Hayward
Hayward, Belinelli, Hamilton
Wilson C, D-Will2, Hamilton
Favors, Millsap, Evans
Jefferson, Ajinca

This team has much improved shooting and defense. Really athletic team as well. Would be a very young team but tell me that team wouldn't excite you. Granted, the Jazz would have to get the #2 in the lottery, get teams under the cap to take Bell and Memo which would free up $$$ for Wilson Chandler. With not re-signing Miles, Ak, Elson, Price, Fes you use that $ to get Bellinelli and Ajinca

Make some kind of deal with this years picks and players, what ever it takes (outside of Favors and Hayward) and get Derrek Williams.............. then hope like hell that Derron Williams comes back

I want to see us drop the option on CJ, and resign AK. Test out the young guys all year, including new incoming picks, see what they can do. Then, have another good draft the upcoming year. Hopefully unload contracts like Okur and Raja.

The Millers sell the team to Donald Trump. As part of the purchase, the Millers will get to retain CJ Miles.

Perhaps you're not old enough to remember the USFL.

Trump has the distinction of not only driving a team into the ground but an entire league.

The myth? Sloan's career winning percentage was 60.3% with a post-season number of just 48.5%.

Van Gandy's is 57.5% and 50.0%.

Given the fact that Sloan had two greats of all-time and Deron and Booze as the 2.0 version, I'd say it's not a reach to think JVG is nearly as good a coach as Jerry.

But you think Corbin will rally the troops and develop them more than he?

I think JVG gets a lot of credit because his team won the horrific East back in '99. He had decent to good Houston teams and what did he do with them? I'm not saying Corbin will be better, but I sure hope so because I think JVG is one of the most overrated coaches out there. I still think that Corbin is just a seat warmer until KOC hires his friend Larry Brown.

So we all agree. Neither coach has done anything with the teams they've had. I mean, yes, they came in first loser many times but thats about it.

Yes, I agree that Corbin didn't do anything with the team he had, but I don't blame him for that. Let's see what happens next year.
