What Do We Do if we get no big name tree agents?

I’d be perfectly happy with Dinwiddie and Jabari.
If we somehow ended up with those two guys out of this offseason I'd be very happy. I know the specifics around Dinwiddie and the Nets maybe needing to clear cap space, but I just can't see any scenario in which the Jazz realistically get him.

I think we would run it back sans rubio

I think this is most likely. In addition, I think we would try to pick up another PG and sign some other 2nd 3rd tier role players to fill in holes.

While I hope it doesn't come to this, I'm not confident that we're going to land any difference maker FA. I'm mentally preparing myself for this outcome. Not necessarily that FO is not trying, but this is still, afterall, Utah. No amount of speculating/hoping that Utah is become a FA destination is going to remove the stigma Utah carries. It's real and it matters.

You can't think of many that have done that? For starters I'll name Paul George, Anthony Davis, Chris Paul, Demarcus Cousins, James Harden, Carmelo Anthony, James Harden..etc. All left their previous team in a better situation by letting them sooner that they wanted out.

George and Davis I’ll give you. But at that point Indy wasn’t impressive and the Pels suck. We didn’t and it showed by winning a playoff series.

The others I honestly don’t remember. Carmelo who gives a ****. Cousins was on the Pels who like I said stink. I don’t recall Paul but if he was that was a vastly different situation.

Hayward was approaching his peak years on an improving hadn’t said anything, and maybe really didn’t know if he wanted to leave. Paul was a gristled vet who had failed time and again in the playoffs and needed a change in scenery.

My prioritized lists

PF:
1. Tobias
2. Randle
3. Jabari
4. Keep Favors (this could happen with Jabari too I think)
5. Mirotic/Rudy Gay/Thad Young

PG:
1. Brogdon
2. Russell
3. Dinwiddie (I have Russell higher because it will take assets to get Dinwiddie)
4. Rozier
5. Beverley
6. Conley (I have Rozier/Beverley higher because it will take assets to get Conley)

Wings:
1. Lamb
2. Bojan Bogdanovic
3. JJ Redick
4. Hood
5. Danny Green

No brainer Bi-Annual Level or lower amount additions:
Caruso
Ed Davis
Vince Carter
Faried
Deng
Hezonja
Vonleh
Korkmaz

I left Kemba, Kyrie, KD, AD, Klay, Kawhi, Beal, Middleton, etc. out because I just don't think they'll be in play for us. We can try, but I have little faith we can pull it off.

It seems there's a lot you don't understand about the way Hayward left that really hurt the Jazz going forward. Had he even demanded a trade at midseason or let the Jazz know he would be leaving sooner instead of stringing them a long until it was too late in free agency it would've been soooo much better.

So your point is that you wish Hayward would have prioritized the Jazz organization over his own preferences/best interests? It would be nice if players would do that, but it is an unfair expectation (although I like the idea of Rudy signing for the minimum!).
You are right that in the past there have been some players who let thier team know they were not going to resign, but not because they were worried about the team, but because it was best for the player (we usually refer to that situation as demanding a trade). Hayward didn't do the Jazz dirty any more than he did the Heat (or would have Boston if he came to us).

He wouldn't be prioritizing the organization over himself to let us know he was going to leave. Wouldn't have impacted him at all one way or the other. just would have allowed us to go after guys to replace him in free agency.

Please. Hayward knew he was leaving all along. He just couldn’t man up and admit to the the Jazz. He still never personally told them.

I think we'll have an answer to this question by mid July, so stay tuned.

I think at this point we are really only in the running to Harris, and we are far from the frontrunner.

So I'm guessing we bring back Favors and make a move for someone like Conley.

If we miss you sign a mix of guys to long term value deals or marketable guys (wings, 3 and D types) to one year overpay deals (1+1). Then when Philly wants to trade Tobias for parts because they have too much salary in ball dominant guys you can offer them a mix of players they'd like. Take some salary on for some assets... just not dead salary... get useful but overpaid guys. If Charlotte signs Kemba take Marvin Williams into space and get a first.

If Toronto keep Kawhi I'd be interested in trading for Norman Powell.
