What does an improved Keyonte look like?

I think Keyonte will get offered a pretty big contract if he hits free agency or gets traded somewhere. I think there will be teams that will value him. His role with the Jazz has been exaggerated due to the Jazz lacking other self-creating offensive players. But if he settles in as a 3rd or 4th option guy on a more established team, he should be fine. Guys like Spencer Dinwiddie and Reggie Jackson have made close to $100M in their careers.

I don't care how much he can or will improve on offense or in his decision-making. If George does not level up on defense he should not be in the Jazz long-term plans.

simple. the same as last year, but instead 54% TS, 58% TS - that's what we need from Key. That probably takes his average ppg from 17 to 18 or 19. A Key who averages 18.5 ppg, 6 assists on 58% TS is a very good player - and that gives us hope that he could become a 20+ ppg on 60%+ TS guy very soon.

Good early signs. Except for the shooting percentages. It'll be interesting to see how those average out over time.

yup. seems hard to sustain 10 FTA/gm, but at the same time, one would expect his 3pt% to come up quite a bit as well. just have to hope the decrease in FTA and the increase in 3pt% keep his TS% somewhere in the high 50s or low 60s.

it's clear he's put in the work on his body and that is helping him finish through and seek contact.

Agree with others that this FTr is hard to sustain, but still looks to be a massive point of improvement and a reflection of several areas of improvement (iq, handle, athleticism). His 3 point shooting will rebound…even if he’s at where he was years 1-2 that will off set some of the unsustainable FT stuff.

Defensive effort has improved, I’m just not sure he has the instincts or defensive talent to ever be good. But he’s getting to that point where he may just be good enough to the point where he can still be a firm starter and beyond.

BPM has him at a +3/-1 offense/defense player. I’d say that’s pretty fair for his performance thus far.

Key 75-82 FT so far, 91.5% on 8.2 attempts/game. Last year he was 81.5% for the season on 4.3 attempts. Impressive he's doubled his attempts.

His 3PT % is at 27.4% on 6.2 attempts/game, last year it was 34.3% on 7.6 attempts/game.

His overall FG% this season is 43.8% on 15.3 attempts/game, last year it was 39.1% on 13.7 attempts.

His minutes/game this season is 33.9, last season 31.5 MPG.

His REB/game is the same as last season 3.8 per/game.

His AST are 7.1 compared to 5.6 last season.

TO 3.3 compared to 2.7 last season.

Like others have mentioned it is heavily buoyed by his FTr and excellent FT shooting, but Keyonte having a ~60% TS rate 10 games into the season was far more than I expected. He has looked so much better out there, feels like the game has slowed down for him.
