What's new

What happened to the Kamala Harris thread???

Steak was talking about Log wanting him dead. Jason made a direct reply to Steak telling him to move on. Since then Steak has been shadow banned. No one other than Steak himself can see anything Steak has ever written, including the post Jason was replying to. Steak has been erased from the site.
Lol is this true? Did I get banned for pointing out another poster told me to kill myself? If so, good riddance.

Steak has been shadow banned. I also went though a day of that. The last post on The Biden and All Things Politics thread is showing as being from Steak, and that may be why it is bugging out.
Sorry about that. I was playing with it on two of ya'll that I clicked randomly to see how it worked in one of these big threads. Took a few hours to undo cleanly as I wanted to see if the undo worked by date. It's not entirely clean as you highlight. It's an option over an outright ban that we now have.

The outright ban is a better option for the user, for the community, and for you as an administrator. Leaving a login active, as this shadow-ban does, creates a larger attack surface as the login still works and so bypasses a whole layer of security built into the package. If you are going to disgruntle someone, it is better to lock them out completely.

Or as Machiavelli said:

"Men should be either treated generously or destroyed, because they take revenge for slight injuries - for heavy ones they cannot."

Ah ok.

I'm so confused
