What's new

What if Jazz still makes the playoffs?

I'll be ecstatic if they make the playoffs. If they make the playoffs with the roster as it stands now (and barring some bizarre circumstances, like 4-5 playoff teams having extremely serious injury problems), it means they have potential to be a great team down the road.

Agree. Portland likely gets in. Denver could drop all the way from 57 wins to the lottery. Lakers were a mess with Howard. I think green may be right. The remaining players, especially Kobe, will be playing with chip on their shoulder. Minnesota has a shot if Rubio and Love stay healthy. I don't see Dallas making the playoffs. My pick for "surprise" team is Sacramento. Kings could be close to a .500 team.

The Kings have been a surprise team for years now. I remember last year when NBA.com was trying to shove the idea of Robinson + Cousins down our throats.

My list:
Spurs
OKC
Memphis
Houston
Clippers
GSW
Portland
Denver (OK, they have a spot here)

What's a stupid draft pick compared to a totally clicking shiny young team with an average age of 21??

No way this happens. Corbin will start Biedrins-washed up vet-Jefferson-Rush-Mo Williams.

As long as Corbin is our coach, we will lose as many games as possible.

Top 8 pick, here we come!

If they make it this would prove that Corbin is the worst coach in NBA history. He has been wasting all the young players for 3 years...

My biggest concern is we may make it to the playoffs this year because 1/3 of the league will be tanking. We decide our guys are allstars and overpay them just to find out we are mediocre in 2015.

You guys forget that these 3 "washed up vets" are 28, 28 and 33 and will be in their contact year for their next big contract or their last. They hardly will be jackpotting around and if they don't we have very solid bench in Carrol, Rush, Jefferson and Biedrins. In fact I am expecting us to be as good as last year. The only way to tank properly was playing basically D-Leaguers as backups.

You guys realize that Richard Jefferson was a decent-to-good player at the age that Iggy is now, right? And that Jefferson is a better shooter and relied/relies less on his athleticism, right?

We'll see where this goes.

With this bench I don't see them making the playoffs. If they do and it's on the strength of our young guys starting and carrying this team....Holy hell would I be one happy camper.

You know, San Antonio only got one 'out of the park' pick in Duncan, the rest of the team was a lot of late pick diamonds in the rough. Sure it's rebuilding time, but guess what: we have already taken the first step: several high lottery picks in Kanter 3 Favors 3, Marvin 2 (might have missed on that one) Gordon 9 Burke 9 Alec 12

It's time to start winning guys, we have extra picks coming and remember, you can only pay so many guys 10 to 15 mil per year. If we get Jabari or someone similar in next years draft, it just means that one of our current players won't be here much longer. I say go with what you have, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

it looks like most teams have made legit improvements only philli and phoenix seem to have already committed to tank
both begin with ph coincidence i think not
