What if?

So what does the "wsan" portion of your username stand for?

Thanks for asking... actually, the last three letters... "san"
two meanings... 'Mr.' in Japanese and 'San Diego'...

I'm so f'n clever, I never even know what I'm saying...

Yeah but I don't see Gordon as that LeBron-esque. He can handle playmaking on a piecemeal basis, but not as our go-to guy or the point guard, per se.

But that is intriguing in the What If machine. What if we literally moved Hayward to the PG spot?

Who or what could we get for Favors anyway?

It's not that he's slow. It's that he's too slow to d up elite guards.

Probably that. Most likely. I'm not a fan of saying a playmaker must be point guard nominally.

Hayward is also a worse playmaker than Harden. But after Harden? What other non-PG can distribute as well as he can? For the Jazz to be successful next year he's probably more than enough to spark enough creativity and get the engine going. Alec Burks hasn't played in a while. Let's see how much he can do? The problem I identify is that the wiggle room to stomach losing players for a longer period during the season is exhausted with Exum being out. Low margin for error.

So you're a Japanese dude living in San Diego that gives blow jobs?
Nice.
So you're freakazoids alt.

What if Trey Burke comes out with a vengeance and puts up:

15 PPG, 7, APG, 3 RPG, and is shooting 48% from field and 37% from three.

Those are not crazy percentages and I think they are realistic. It would be a big improvement and we would be looking good.

Lol those aren't crazy percentages? They are pretty crazy.

Hakeem territory?

Y'all.

Yeah, not sure what people saw in Gobert last year to make them think he will become an offensive juggernaut in 1 off-season. I'm just hoping he can consistently be a 70% FT shooter and learn how to post up guys who are SF size.

Rudy hasn't even shown more than prime-Hibbert on offense.

Did you see the thread title? WHAT IF, Rudy took the world by surprise? What would happen?

Let's play what if in this thread and get drunk on kool-aid.

I will start...

What if Rudy blows up in a big way? I am talking 20+ PPG, 15-17 RPG, 4 bpg, 65% FG, 3 ASSTS, 2 ST. If he moves into an Hakeem territory and tears the NBA a new one. Do we have the firepower to support him and compete for a title right now? Is it enough to carry our rag-tag fleet of rebels to victory?

Personally I think Rudy has it in him to do something like this. The offense is the big question mark really, but the rest of it is within the realm of reality. Also, I think that Favors, Hayward, Hood and Burks are a great supporting cast. Can you imagine Rudy with a performance something like this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3Kv_-RJj7g

18 point, 16 rebound, 11 block and 10 assist

So...what if?

edit: if there is bad music or something in the video let me know, I had to watch it without sound due to random sound ads on JF.

Bingo! Need to change you to Dr. Watson!

'cept, I'm English/Welsh/Spanish & whatever else;
'cept, I'm now living in Munich;
'cept, for better or worse... have no experience with blow jobs :(

but as they say, WTMI
(yea, do speak Japanese, and did live in SD)

Yeah right.

I think that will depend on how much Hood develops this year and how Burks looks when he comes back. If Hood develops like I think he will and Burks has maintained his slashing and ability to get to the line and he improves his finishing then I say yes.

We'd need an average PG at that point.

Favors, Hayward, Hood and Burks could be an excellent supporting group.

Hayward
Burks
Hood
Favors
Monster Gobert

Or in Dr. Jones' trade favors scenario...

Hayward
Burks
Hood
Pleiss
Gobert?

I've been saying put Hayward at the point guard spot for a while.

Uhm... What IF... we weren't stupid...

Gordon is Good, Gordon is Great, let us thank Him...
but putting him at point means we give up a borderline SF All-Star, and get back a slow, below avg. PG.

Uh. That isn't really how it works. We would still have Hayward on the floor. Smh

It's not that he's slow. It's that he's too slow to d up elite guards.

He can guard elite point guards. And he does it well. We've seen him guard Chris Paul and Tony Parker before, and he did a fine job. I probably wouldn't believe myself unless I saw it with my own eyes. But we have. It's happened.

I can't believe people can't remember Hayward guarding point guards. Corbin did that a bunch of times at the end of games because he's our best on ball defender.

Ok new what if...

What if Trey Burke developed a game this year? What if he surprises us all and comes out shootin...and makin, 45% FG 37% 3, better decisions passing, more poise. Like he rose to the challenge, say to the tune of 18 pts, 8 assts, 1.5 steals, 3 boards.

And isn't it sad that a crazy scenario for our PG has numbers that are really not that incredible?
