What's new

What is the FO vision of the team?

He may not be able to get anything for him.

That's true. BUT, there is only one big man on the market with better #'s than Al. There are a lot of teams trying to get that one big man. Someone will lose, and when that happens, KOC might be able to sell Al a bit higher. Imagine if he was able to get a starting quality wing or a young pg. Al could be the key....

Or we might end up watching him ruin the offense, not play defense, "lead" us to an 8th seed (ha ha), and then walk for nothing.

He was also punked by boris Diaw, matt boner, novak, scola, monroe, and David Lee. He needs to be the 6th man. I will be very upset if he starts agian.

I'd rather have Millsap as the 6th man as well but every player in the league with the exception of people like Lebron , Wade and Kobe get punked on occassion. This is the big leagues and there are always guys that just have your number so to speak.

But yes Favors is better and should start over Sap. I still stand by the statement that you underestimate "The Four".

How is it that we paid as much as we did for him, and KOC was heralded as a genius, but when we talk about moving Al he becomes worthless?

I think he has value. I think KOC values him much more than anyone here. Thats why we havent seen him moved. I bet he has offers that everyone here would take. But not what he is willing to take.

This is a very reasonable post.

i understand why OP is getting flamed based on this mid-summer lovefest, but i think it's a fair question. a lot of teams make moves to replace role players with other teams' role players. it's hard to tell, without getting on the court, it's hard to say if any of these moves are the kind that are going to help the jazz round a corner... or if they're the kind to appease the fan base in a short term and remain competitive enough to renew season ticket holders without getting significantly closer to true contention.

in other words, mo probably doesn't put us over the title hump. marvin williams doesn't put us over the title hump. if the jazz are going to compete for a title with this group, i think it all rests on internal improvement by the young core.

I do not. It is indeed a good question and he/she brings up valid points. Good on you abach and hope to see you post around here more often.

Dang flamming, negging jackwagons.

I'm not much of a poster on jazzfanz but do have strong opinions regarding the jazz organization, due to family who have worked in upper management within the organization.

That being said, does anyone else question the direction? Is it really a championship? Is the jazz team wanting to settle for a playoff showing just for the $$? (Huge revenues come just from making the playoffs as an eighth seed)

Without sounding like a pessamistic fan, when I look at our current roster, it screams mediocrity to me. Does anyone else feel this way?

Mo Williams - Average player now, once an allstar
Gordon Hayward - STREAKY, and inconsistent
Marvin Williams - Average at best.
Derrick Favors - Honestly, the ONLY player on the roster that I consider an above average player
Al Jefferson - Stat padder

Millsap - Many of you think he should start, but he is too undersized to be a starter on a championship team, let's face it. He's NOT good enough to start at the 3 either, he's not quick enough and can't shoot the 3.

Bench - average bench.

I'm not being a hater, I love the jazz. I have been a fan my whole life, through and through. I just question the current roster and hope they can land a franchise player. I still don't understand the direction of the roster... I hate settling for first/second round playoff exits. I want a ****ing championship!!

Feel free to join the red dot company! Thanks for an honest opinion these types don't want to hear anything but praise for our team.
