What's new

what is the goal?

i think the goal is to be in dis limbo. srs. fans always say the worst spot is to be mediocre, but tbh, i dont think thats the case in reality. in reality, a team that commits 100% to tankin, especially in a small market or a market not somewhere like NY, often loses a huge chunk of their fan base and more importantly their interest (inclding tix sales, merch., ratings, etc.). meanwhile a team 100% committed to tryin to win with flawed pieces and a bloated payrol has a similr effect eventually AND is overpayin. so i think the goal right now is to be in dis limbo and try to keep the fans interested. hope dis make some sense to any1 still readin. it did in my mind but i see now that it came out confusin after i typed it. im gonna try and do better i my next post. -Love HH

The goal is to fill the ESA and sell as much merchandise as possible.
Then the Jazz need to look at the bigger picture. A ten year plan needs to include Embiid, Wiggins or Parker to do that at the maximum level consistently. Go get a superstar and the fans will follow.

Ten year plan amounts to the majority of time that a top 3 rookie contract should realistically play in one city. Four years under his rookie contract and then a five year max deal. Hence the ten years.

My point was that they can't always be looking at the present when making decisions that affect the team's future. One All-NBA superstar player is worth a hell of a lot more money than a bunch of one-and-done playoff appearances.

Last I checked we're tied for the 4th worst record in the league. Our young players are growing and looking more legit every game. You're ****ing stupid.

Can't tell if this was intended for me or not (since my post was right before yours.)

The funny thing is that I agree with everything you said (except about me possibly being ****ing stupid.)

I personally want more of the Core5 together for development and long-term chemistry, I want Marvin and Jefferson traded for assets (if possible) and I want the team (coaches especially) to be willing to take risks even if it costs them wins right now in the short term.

People do realize that we are in the marshmallow part of our schedule, right?

When we beat denver they were on a five game win streak and we were without our best player.

Last night we played a pretty good team (the spurs) on the road without our best player and almost beat them.

This team is not as bad as their record

And okc

Yes, but those were mostly home games played with plenty of rest. Once we start hitting the road for extended periods and the back to backs, and especially now that other teams will actually bother scouting us, the pickin's won't be so easy. You can see that the league is already digesting the scouting reports on Burke. He has to work harder to get his. I somewhat suppose this is what happened with Kanter too. Now that he has added some range to his game he has broken the previous report. It will be fun to see what Burks does when his scouting report is updated.
