Favors, by far. He is the potential franchise player.
Kanter, just to see if he's all we were led to believe.
Burks, to see it he can shoot and play defense.
Hayward, last because I think he's the least to worry about.

I voted Burks. Unlike some other folks, I put a lot of stock on what David Locke says, and he has said multiple times that Burks has the stuff to become an all star. My biggest question is whether he'll have CJ's shot or Haywards shot. What I mean is this: CJ's shot changes from day to day, it's angle, the angle of his hips, it's release point. Sometimes it's unstoppable, sometimes it bricks like a badly coached jr jazz player. Haywards on the other hand is the same, day in and day out. Which type of shot will it be will determine his all star potential, because he already has the speed and athleticism to be a star.

Speaking of hayward, he'll be the best role player in the NBA. I don't see him becoming a star, he just doesn't quite have the tools for it. Now maybe if he puts on some muscle and learns how to dribble better with a great crossover, he may get there, but for now, his only real asset is his perfect shot (which is a great asset to have)

Favors has tons of talent, but so does Jake Heaps (yeah, football reference, but the analogy holds) My question on Favors is not on talent, but on his mind. His mindset for much of the season looked to me like the mindset of an abused wife (not funny, not supposed to be) After all the trade rumors and lack of support from the Nets, he was a broken man, and kind of played like it. He showed sparks, but I'm tired of sparks. Basketball is both physical and mental, and I want to see mental improvements from him. He needs to not only play well, but he needs to take the team on his shoulders and be a leader if he is going to be the superstar he is supposed to be.

As for Kanter; I accept the fact that he's not going to be dominant for a while, and with memo returning, he's going to get even less playing time that he was with Memo still questionable. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Memo coming back, if for nothing else to have him as a friend for Kanter (culture) and as someone to push Kanter to do better. Unfortunately, I can't get excited to see a player who likely won't play much till someone gets injured.

Whew, sorry for the long thread, but I've been thinking a lot about this.

Favors will be the first on my list. He's a freak, he looked huge at the charity game, and has the most potential to be overwhelmingly dominant. Corbin loves him and will give him solid minutes this season. I can't wait to watch him this year.

A close second is Hayward, only because I have a massive man crush on him and, like the rest of you, I want to see if he can pick up where he left off and improve, which I think he will.

Burks. I'm worried about his frame and his D, but I think he'll score like crazy if given the green light. Very excited to see what he's got.

Kanter should go to the DLeague. I don't see him performing well until at very least mid-season. With limited minutes, and barring injuries, I think the DLeague will do wonders for him.

Kanter and Favors...we passed up a LOT of players to get Kanter and we traded our best player since Stock and Malone retired for Favors. These guys better pan out.

Favors. The dude will be sick this year with Jefferson in better shape. World Domination bitches!!!!!!!

Good logic. Makes sense. I am still more excited for Hayward or Burks than Kanter, but this is a good way to look at it.

No one should expect to see much - if anything - from Kanter for a while. That frontcourt sitch is downright ****ed and until something gets cleared (Memo or Jefferson), I don't see him getting much besides garbage minutes. And of everyone on the team, he needs those minutes most by a mile.

I think he'll be a very nice player eventually, though.

Hard to pick between the 4. For me, probably Hayward because of his strong play at the end of last year. I think Kanter will probably struggle at first, but should grow during the season. Burks will be the "surprise" guy for those who don't know much about him.

Kanter will have a rookie season similar to Hayward and Favors I think; lots of struggles early on, people complaining about the players we could have drafted instead, but he'll start to show signs of brilliance towards the end and remind everyone why the Jazz were so high on him in the first place.

I'm most excited for Burks. A lot of people are underrating Burks because he had terrible shooting percentages in college-- but it was because he was the only capable scorer on the Buffs. With actual team mates to pass to, I can see him grabbing a lot of assists, and actually being able to get open shots without being double teamed constantly. The guy has an amazing first step, and can go to the rim from the left or right with no problem. He even switches it up about 50/50 of the time as well, so he's pretty unpredictable.

Favors comes in second place for me, not because I'm not excited for him, but because I've seen him already. I want the kid starting at PF, forcing Millsap off the bench. I get that Millsap is the player with more experience, but he'll never have the size that Favors has, and we need Big D's D. I'm extremely confident Favors will become a great defensive player, so this season he needs to prove that he can be the offensive brute only Utah and New Jersey fans know he's capable of.

Kanter is iffy for me. He's much more of a project than a product. The kid needs experience, and he needs to learn how to use his left hand. His size is ridiculous, and there are very few players in the NBA with as much power as Kanter. But you know what they say, it takes longer for big men to develop than little guys, so I won't be surprised if our 12th pick outshines our 3rd.

Hayward is extremely overrated by Utah fans. Don't get me wrong, I ****ing love Hayward, but he's not our star. He's our glue. I think with him on the court, our other players work together better. I'm very confident in Hayward. He's a very smart player. Takes smart shots, makes smart passes, and will continue to surprise everyone by being the athletic whiteboy that he is.

Voted Favors but if there's one thing I'm keying on it's Corbin. Really curious to see what he does with all this talent.

IMO this team should be running a lot, Harris, Hayward and Favors ought to be really good pushing the ball and finishing. Maybe Kanter too.

Edit to add: I might be in the minority but I'm stoked to see what Sap and Jefferson are able to bring this year too. Really there is so much to look forward to finding out. Should be a lot of fun to watch.

This. The Corbin era truly begins. Too much whatnot going on last year.

I most exited for Favors. He showed enough last year to whet the appetite. All the comparisons to Dwight Howard has me jazzed to see him. I can wait on all others. Kanter is a 3rd pick in the draft which implies he should be an immediate contributor. However, he sat out last year (and already some this year) so he's one year out from assessing him i think.
