What Should We Do With Rubio?

Should Rubio go to the bench?

I pretty much agree with Candrew. His trade value is very low right now; I wish someone would make a good offer but it seems very unlikely. I do think he needs to go to the bench, especially when Rudy comes back.

Take him out behind the barn and put him out of his misery.
I was never a huge Rubio fan to begin with when he was in Minnesota (thought he was overhyped). But I got sucked into the notion he'd be a good fit with Hayward and the rest. Now it's coming back to me why I didn't like him: he tries to get too cute with a lot of his passes and he can't shoot.

Nickname should either be Bricky or The Albatross (as in his contract is just deadweight). He has to be bottom-3 in terms of starting PG's in the league. And that includes some backups who have been forced into action. He's likely untradeable. Minnesota got the better of us in that trade. And damn, Hayward...he was really the reason DL had to panic and get a PG.

Rubio struggled last December before turning it around. His value is low right now. No reason to give up on him when he can pretty much only go up from here.

Why is the fanbase so enamored with the idea of trading Rubio? His trade value isn't high and you won't likely get equal value back. His contract is more than reasonable for what he provides on the court. He and Donovan can play together so it's not like he's taking Donovan's minutes. He's not a problem for the team in the locker room or off the court and he's a team player on the court. People just need to chill. He's new to the team and a lot of our key players have missed a substantial amount of games. Give him and the team time. He'll be fine.

MAYBE you could blame some of the TO's on adjusting to a new system. But bad shooting is bad shooting.
Can he and Donovan play together? I suppose. But imagine Mitchell at PG with a true 3&D player at SG - someone who shoots 40% on 3's instead of <30%.

Cause so far he has sucked. Low assists, high turnovers, horrible shooting, poor defense.
