What's new

What time do you wake up in the morning?

I get up around seven
Get outta bed around nine
And I don't worry about nothin' no
'Cause worryin's a waste of my, time
The show usually starts around seven
We go on stage at nine
Get on the bus at eleven
Sippin' a drink and feelin' fine
We been dancin' with
Mr. Brownstone
He's been knockin'
He won't' leave me alone
No, no, no
He won't leave me alone
I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do
So the little got more and more
I just keep tryin' ta get a little better
Said a little better than before
I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do
So the little got more and more
I just keep tryin' ta get a little better
Said a little better than before
We been dancin' with
Mr. Brownstone
He's been knockin'
He won't leave me alone
No, no, no
He won't leave me alone
Now I get up around whenever
I used ta get up on time
But that old man he's a real mutha****er
Gonna kick him on down the line
I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do
So the little got more and more
I just keep tryin' ta get a little better
Said a little better than before

No, no no
He won't leave me alone
Oh leave me alone
Stuck it in the middle and I shot it in the middle
And it, it drove outta my mind
I should've known better, said I wish I never met her
Said I leave it all behind

Lol yeah ok it’s nothing. You’re the one complaining about your 4-year old.

Dumbass. We have a 4, 5, and 7 year old. Obviously we’ve experienced two at the same time in the age range your own are.
Youth sports is far more demanding than just going nonstop the way you described it, and the way I had it “nonstop” my before kids started them.

That said, I mentioned my four year old because she’s a terror (though getting slightly better) and I believe sleep to be a fairly large reason for her tantrums and acting out. She’s sort of ODD which some of you might be familiar with.

Also, I didn’t even mention my four year old in this thread. Tard.

I’m curious what sports @bigb ’s play this coming fall too. Our oldest is doing travel soccer (again), rec soccer (more touches to get her better for travel), and flag football. My son who’s going into kindergarten is doing pre-travel soccer, rec soccer and flag football. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like in about 3-7 years when they’re all doing a ton and it’s more frequent.

I wake up around 4 or 5
Eat, shower, and get dressed in about an hour's time
Take my vitamins, check my messages and call around to some friends
Make plans for dinner and drinks sometime after 9:00
Oh we're definitely going to call in early tonight
Well, I need to dry out take some time to clear my mind
Now before you know it here I am again,
It's ****ing two o'clock in the morning
Standing in a bar, with a drink in hand

How low can you go before you can't turn around?

Now seriously, this is my last and final time
Well I'm making some big, big changes in my life
No, you won't catch me down here again
Waiting to score sweaty money palmed in my hand
What the **** are you cutting this with anyway?
Because I've got some really, really big plans
And today's the day I'm putting them into action
But before you know it, here I am again
****ing six o'clock in the morning
Rolled up dollar bill in my hand

How low can you go before you turn around?

And I'm sick of feeling like I'm losing my mind
Sick of doing the same thing night after night
Sick of self-loathing and self-absorption
Self-destructive narcissism
I'm sick to death of being constantly ****ing sick of
I don't know who I can trust
Thought there was us, now there is no one

That’s nothing. Wait til youth sports starts. @bigb knows.
Oh ****, sports killed us this spring. My senior played club level soccer and decided to add high school lacrosse on to that as well. The 14 year old played travel baseball and added off season football workouts on to that. The 11 year old played club level soccer. The 10 year old played travel baseball. We made the youngest two take the spring off. There were literally some nights we’d have three games at the same time at different locations. Most Saturdays the wife and I would have to split up and still ask the grandparents for help getting kids places. Then throw in the out of town tournaments. We literally played back to back weekends in southern utah in February. Then a week off only to head back down the first week of March. Add a trip to Idaho and Omaha in June. It’s exhausting.

I’m curious what sports @bigb ’s play this coming fall too. Our oldest is doing travel soccer (again), rec soccer (more touches to get her better for travel), and flag football. My son who’s going into kindergarten is doing pre-travel soccer, rec soccer and flag football. Actually, this fall won’t be terrible. The oldest aged out, so she’s done, maybe some intramurals at college. The next one is playing high school football. The middle kids aren’t playing anything til winter (with the exception of some off season baseball workouts and a possible tournament for #4). #5 and 6 are playing rec baseball and soccer respectively.

For the topic:
I usually try to get to bed about 10:30 or so. Usually make it before 11:00. Sometimes I’ll be up later doing paperwork (keeping the books, sending invoices and bids). Up by 5:30 at the latest. Out the door 6:30 usually. When I can, I’ll try to do it all earlier and leave for work about 5:30. It depends what kind of jobs I’ve got going.

"As the monthly data revealed, subjects tended to sleep longer during the winter, by up to 60 minutes (though the result barely missed statistical significance); they took about 25 minutes shorter to enter into REM sleep during autumn than spring; they experienced about 30 minutes more REM sleep on average in winter than spring; and they underwent a swift and sudden drop in slow-wave sleep (the deepest form of NREM sleep, during which we dream and our memories consolidate) in the fall months."
