What would you give up to rent Conley?

Memphis is out, Conley is likely gone. They would likely trade him now for value. What would you give up for a rest of the season tryout?

Problem with Grizzlies trading him is it then prevents them from making an offer to him for 1 year (so basically, he's gone for good). Have they decided they don't want to try to keep him?

I've seen nothing that supports the OP saying he is gone. I doubt they move him.

This is incorrect. That rule only applies to non-expiring players who are waived after a trade. The Grizzlies could trade Conley, and still re-sign him in the offseason.

Memphis just hasn't shown to be the kind of team who wants to go into a full rebuild, so I doubt they sell all their pieces off just because of 1 injury.

Answer the question.
What would you give up for a 1 year rental of Conley?

I'd only trade under 1 circumstance: Verbal guarantee that he'll resign for 5 years/100-120M range.

If he agreed to that I'd offer Burks straight up. I might even insist on getting another asset in a 3 team trade.Memphis doesn't really have anything else to offer. Courtney Lee would be interesting, but he expires as well.

Why I'd do it?
His agent is Mike Conley Sr., part of Bill Duffy's agency. If he were to move back on his word, the San Antonio gang would ensure that agency would take a hit.
But I don't think he ever would. You never hear about Mike Conley. But when you do, you learn that he's a high character guy off the floor and doesn't care if you know about it. Very private.
On the floor, he's amazing. No mistakes, brilliant court vision, getts other guys assists literally. Big time defender. Kind of like Chris Paul. Super disruptive. He doesn't take possessions off, stays in front of his guy as often as everyone else. Very focused. Does all the small things to compensate for his height and small body.

The asking price is going to be even higher than what ATL's asking for Teague. It's not a match IMO.

Starting Conley and Hood would be the only all left-handed backcourt in the league.

I would give second rounders. It doesn't work timeline wise and would be a thirty game rental. No thanks. We wouldn't resign him because of Dante. Teague works better because he has another year on his deal.

You wouldn't give them trey? I would like to have conley for the rest of this year and the playoffs instead of trey burke and then idgaf if we dont have him after this year. We have dante to start for us next year and neto too. If we want to find another short chucker of trey burke's caliber next off season, then im sure we can.

Short rentals of players are not always bad if you aint giving anything up.

Based on?

Just do some research on him, and you'll find some things that imply this. Also he apparently has given Marc a verbal guarantee last summer he'd sign a new contract as well if he stays.
I believe his story, he doesn't have an overinflated ego.

If we traded for him it would be ideal to sign him long-term. Conley is a legit PG. Last season, after Mccollum accidentally busted Conley's face he returned with that face mask and played like a star PG. I think he'd fit well and Snyder would love his PG play.
