What's going on with Burke?

All of you who constantly say you are embarassed are a bunch of little girls. Sure, OP was over the top, but the comment is worthy of discussion. Why are so many people affraid to discuss things?

Agreed. The OP was a hyperbolic mess, but the discussion it facilitated is, in my opinion, worth discussing.

Kanter should be played as power forward, since none of them gaurd eachother anyways:

Aldridge - no D
Dirk - no D
Boozer - No D
Griffin - no D
Randolph - gets by because of Gasol.
Kevin Love - hahaha!
Ryan Anderson - hahahahahahaha
McRoberts - not a rim protector
Thad Young - quick off ball, but overmatched with bigger opponents
Manimal - athletic, but out of position a lot, and is over matched size wise.
David Lee - haha

Kanter is a negative on both sides of the floor... I don't care what position he is playing.

You are aware that if Favors and Kanter start together it doesn't matter what you call them, NBA players don't wear bracelets saying who has to guard you. A team can put their "center" or "PF" on Kanter. It's not like Kanter's lateral speed scares anyone from putting a center on him.

Yes. Match ups dictate everything. Said this numerous times already. I just think fans, and our FO should think of him as a 4 rather than a 5. When you look at him as a 4, and then think of all the prominent 4's who can't play D, it makes his limitations easier to swallow. He has a lot to offer that people often overlook because they are so concerned about what a legit center is. Just because Kanter is taller than Favors, does not make him the center. Malone has said Kanter is a PF.

At the end of the day, they are bigs.

No, but if his ability to shoot from the perimeter makes their C go out to guard him, that will change.

I think Quin is a good enough coach to see and exploit that.

Everything else you said doesn't matter

But it does. Ty had hang ups about who and what Kanter was supposed to be, and it severely limited his playing time and development.

He is a big. But, if he is utilized, and thought of as a PF, he has more freedom to be more offensive minded, which is his strength. Not saying he shouldn't improve his D, he should. I am just saying, no one should be expecting him to be a rim protector and then faulting him when he is not. Time for Jazz fans, and teammates to celebrate the fact that we have a 6'11" big w/ touch, who also has a post game. Players like him are rare, yet it seems most people have given up on the kid. Dante is really raw as well, but the talent is real. Hope jazz fans don't put the same ridiculous expectations on him as well.

It was an off topic rant.

Yes, the coach should put him in the spots where he can be most effective. He should do things he's good at, and avoid trying to do things he can't.

You know how much of this is dependent on whether he's labeled PF or C on his bio? Nothing

Fine. I don't care what you call him. I'm just sick of fans thinking he is trash because he doesn't fit their idea of what a center should be. That was Ty's problem. Don't think it will be Quin's. Jazzfanz need to get over it.

May be valid, but I would like to hear/see you elaborate as to how. His mom has a history of dissing Kanter publicly.

Not Burke.

Perhaps you are right, perhaps you are not. But i am unwilling to jump on that train when its just assumption.

Funny to see you representing the other foot though.
