What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Them(2006) - Very naturalistic, effective to a point low budget flick. I like horror movies that make good use of simple effects like this one with the lighting. This movie kept me guessing up until the reveal which unfortunately is very underwhelming. And it's one of those "based on a true story" movies that logically loses me. There is very little gore(is it really french EXTREME?!) but I appreciated it for that. I enjoyed it for the most part.

Was it a remake/mashup of the 1954 movie?

Oh man I forgot about this movie. I remember enjoying it, but don't remember the twist. Would you mind refreshing my memory?
Allright Ill add spoiler tags in case anyone has interest in watching it..
The killer is revealed to be the blonde woman who has a male alt personality. It makes no sense.

Lol, no. But someone probably should.

La Ceremonie (1995) another 5-star french flick. This is the best crime related french new wave film ive seen. This director must've been a big Alfred Hitchcock fan.

Watched Gasper Noe's Climax, really liked it and from what I've read online a lot of people consider it his best work. Really impressive on a technical level, some impressively long continuous shots. The soundtrack is fantastic really works well with the hypnotic dancing. If there is one complaint is near the beginning they are going around the room focusing on two people talking, felt like it went on a bit long and needed to be cut down. But overall a great experience I would recommend

Party time..

Hustlers was real ****ing good.

Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu have great chemistry together, and it was a somewhat surprisingly emotional movie.

Dragged Across Concrete.

Mel Gibson, Vince Vaughn. Really solid cop flick. Some great dialogue at times. A bit slow here and there (could’ve cut it down from 160 minutes to 135-140 imo) but really good overall.
Movie ****ing sucked *** for real. One of the worst movies Ive seen this year. (or maybe I saw it last year, either way, terrible).

Adaption(2002) is a MASTERPIECE. Hands-down one of the best movies of the 2000's. I dare anyone to try and argue otherwise. Thats the best movie Nicolas Cage has ever done. Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper also slay.

I went and watched the Joker this week by myself.

I heard Phoenix was brilliant in it and rolled my eyes to how the film will influence violence.

A couple of things, saying Phoenix was brilliant in it doesn't do justice to how great he is. He ****ing nailed the role and was convincing af. In fact, the movie was so real and different than any Marvel/DC movie it made it extremely disturbing to watch. It was a damn masterpiece and was so good, unfortunately, I definitely can see how it can influence some nut job.

That movie makes you think about mental illness. **** me, it was beyond disturbing yet so good.

Highly recommend if you're into that stuff.

It was a crazy good flick. I loved it. The only negative for me was that I kinda wish it had nothing to do with the DC comics and Joker the character. There was a disconnect for me with what the Joker is in comics and other movies and the Joker here didnt feel close to the same guy. Thomas Wayne's portrayal and his connection to Arthur adds a whole ton of baggage and was a disconnect as well.

This movie works better as a standalone movie with no affiliation to the comic property

Of course, I understand that the Joker name is what'll bring in the big bucks. A whole lot of people are going to see this movie that wouldn't have if it wasn't a comic book movie. That's a huge plus. The whole comic book movie popularity deal moving forward allows directors to create some out-there stuff and have it be seen when something like this may not have got off the ground.
