What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

I saw "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" last week. I thought it was pretty great.

Also saw "Shazam!" It was okay, but I got a little bored.

I read my daughter a book a few years ago called Stargirl. It was a nice book about being yourself, accepting others, etc ..... basic stuff but it was nice. Disney + just released the film adaptation of it and dear mother of god that was maybe one of the top 5 worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life. Even my 10 year old daughter was like "What the F was that?" So if you have kids and need movies to watch with them over this quarantine just know disney has been ******** the bed with their original releases.

Rambo Last Blood

Seeing how I just recently shattered my clavicle, there is a scene in Rambo (the first violent one, mind you) that involves the clavicle. That **** made me hurt to watch and I got a lil light headed.

Finally got around to watching Knives Out and absolutely loved it. Very entertaining all the way through. The entire cast is amazing, Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas in particular are brilliant.

Watched The Platform on Netflix.

It's quite maddening how people are saying its concept is great. It's not. It's been done so many times. It's just the setting is different. You could have this movie in a suburban part of town, a plain old fashioned prison. It could be a zombie flick.

Snowpiercer which got worse reviews was a much better film. High-rise book by Ballard tells a life in a skyscrapper in more detailed and believable way as it devolves into violence.

Does porn count?

Kidding (not really:rolleyes:). I watch looots of movies. Last one was The Good Liar with Ian McKellen. 6/10.

It is very weird. More weird than I was ready for. The vocabulary is very strange in it also. The characters go on these long rambling nonsensical rants quite often..... Or there isn't any dialogue for long stretches of time.

I did think the acting was good especially from Dafoe.

I've never been a big fan of Defoe. He just always plays himself and for some reason they like to cast him in roles where being himself just doesn't fit.

Not always. He was outstanding in The Florida Project. Excellent movie too.
I think in movies like Platoon, and the Boondock Saints, where his delivery and, let's say accent, can mesh with the material he does well. And even as the Green Goblin in spiderman because, let's face it, he has the face of a goblin. But things like the last temptation of christ, body of evidence, and even Aquaman in that minor supporting role he just seems so out of place. Like "hey this guy is Willem Dafoe, but isn't he supposed to be Aquaman's mentor or something?" I don't mind the guy generally, and in some stuff he was pretty great (Platoon, one of my favs) but so often he just seems out of place. And he is often wooden in his acting, too methodical. You see this in Spiderman for one. I would place him in the "ok" category of actors imo.

True, I mean when he's in bad movies I guess he's not great. I generally stay away from those to begin with though.

I think he is a good actor but yeah, he was out of place in Aquaman (and I would include Spiderman). They are terrible movies though. Not my cup of tea. Haven't watched Platoon in aaaages, probably now it's a good time to rewatch it.

He’s fantastic in To Live and Die in LA. A great effing movie if you’ve never seen it. Absolutely fantastic. Friedkin I think.
