What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

How was Conviction?

Saw The Fighter today. Very good movie. And holy cow was Vinyl right. Bale more than hit it out of the park. One of the best acting performances I've ever seen. I was slightly underwhelmed by the boxing sequences though. It didn't hurt the film for me in any way. They just didn't sell me enough and feel totally legit. The camerawork and everything was fine. But the choreography of it all was a bit supbar imo if we're comparing it to other boxing movies.

Conviction was decent. A bit of a tear jerker.

I thought Love was tonight at 730. But it was at 630. Fail on me.

Funny regarding your take on the boxing scenes in The Fighter. All the scenes were legit. Wahlberg trained for two years. And every boxing scene was shot by a crew of HBO boxing cameramen.

I said the camerawork was fine. I loved the HBO feel. And that's great that Wahlberg trained. Anyone can train for anything for years. That doesn't mean they'd be able to sell the mimicry of it which is what essentially acting, in many ways, is. My main problem, if you want me to be more specific, was with the speed of the punches. We're not talking heavyweights here. Yet, they were punching slower than heavyweights. And many a time, it therefore felt staged just very, very slightly. To me.

Patrick, I wasn't invalidating what you said...sorry if it came off like that. Also, just for the record, they were fighting in those scenes. Like really.

No dude, they actually beat eachother up. Seriously. That was part of their multi-million dollar contract -- you know, risk injury and/or death. Frickin' movies.

If only you were that devoted to selling insurance.

Instead, you do things like whistle in the elevator.

Good job Biff.

Again, I fail to see the humor/point of your attempted belittlement. Either be funny and/or have a point, or shut the hole under you nose.
