It should not come to language at the end. If they have legal work permit or permanent residence status - they should be allowed to stay. Deporting is extreme measure and is usually is reserved to illegal immigrants or criminals.

I believe they have serious reasons for that and they are not alone, all Europe is troubled by illegal immigration. Small countries like Netherlands can only support limited numbers of immigrants - and they need to be willing to integrate, work, study, be decent residents and not a burden for that country. Sweden example is perfect illustration what can happen when it gets out of control
