What's new

Who are current glue/3 and d/great leadership guys in the league?

As much as I have hated on Exum, he may be a great leader, we know he is a good defender, he might be a great glue guy..... His three point shooting is worrisome but he is so so young and quin is good at developing guys.... Maybe Exum is the guy we are looking for.

good to see you're more hopeful on our boy ! Apparently all the guys on the team love him, he could be a great leader once he gets to the point of needing to shave

Not an NBA player.

I know - NBAdraft.net has Utah picking Ron Baker with the 60th pick.

Maybe that's the guy.

I find it funny they also have us picking Sabonis' kid and Gary Payton II - what a way to get back at the players that tormented us.

Trevor Ariza would be perfect
I like him too. Probably more than carroll.

Still like hood Hayward and Burks better though

He's a bit better this year, cheapish, and could come off the bench. Not that he's as proven as Ariza but what about someone like Arron Afflalo?
Another good one.

So far I probably like
Bazemore
Afflalo
Ariza
Carroll
In that order

Ariza would suit our defensive needs WAY ****ing better than Bazemore.

Dude is straight-up a SG/SF/PF and can guard everyone from Chris Paul to Paul Millsap.

Not to mention the fact that he's coming off a dumpster-fire in Houston, and will be had for less money than Bazemore.

I think Joe Ingles fits the description. SlowMo Joe is a pest on defense and shoots the ball well from downtown (no matter how odd it looks sometimes.) He's a mentor to the young guys (especially Exum), not terribly expensive and doesn't complain about his role on the team.

Plus, he's the funniest guy on the roster and a great locker room influence. And, despite a poor start to the season, he's been playing very well lately. I wouldn't complain if the Jazz decked out the bench and Joe slips almost out of the rotation, because I think he'll still figure out a way to make himself valuable to this team regardless.

SMJ does not get in guys faces and challenge them. I want someone like that who helps us stay focused night in and night out. Someone who's vocal and can lead.

Tony Allen doesn't give much on the offensive end, but he's a great defender and leader, even at his age.

I like bazemore and carroll. Not positive that either are better than hood hayward or Burks though.

I still have plenty of hope that burks is going to be one of the best bench players in the league and be a 6th man of the year candidate year in and out and he will be cheaper than bazemore or carroll.

Hell no to Tony allen
Burks is already one of the better bench players
I hate to say it cause we having been hearing this for the last few years now but maybe so we really need is for the team to be healthy and get a bit older/more experience.

It sounds like the company line crap that is always said but it might also be the truth
Been saying this

We have a young and talented starting 5 and the bench is starting to take shape. Just needs a little time and experience.

Next year we will have Burks and Mack as scorers off the bench, and maybe lyles becomes a reliable scorer off the bench, plus Quin seems to like to have either Gobert or Favers in the game at all time. Think both Neto and Lyles, and Burks (to a lesser extent) can all space the floor.

This is a complete team. If Exum becomes the player I'm hoping he becomes, wow. This team has a bright future, and DL HAS DONE THIS WITHOUT SPENDING A TON OF MONEY, which will help us keep more of our core intact and continue to draft well to replace whoever we can't keep.
