What's new

Who are you??

19 (going on 20) year old Canadian. Born in Germany. Parents escaped Kosovo during the early 90s when my dad lost his job with the state as an engineer (back when it was still Yugoslavia). The escaping-process is a very tl;dr story, so lets just say its a miracle that my family even made it to Germany, let alone immigrate to Canada.

I was around 3ish when I moved here. Parents didn't know if we would move back to Germany one day (LOTS of family there, almost none here) so me and my two brothers went to German school throughout our years of public education.

Currently going into my 3rd year of University, @ the University
of Alberta. Genetics major (shoutout to ma Boi Zulu) and an Organic Chemistry minor.

My MCAT is in 2 weeks time-- so I have aspirations to get into medical school. My marks are okay, my work ethic could still always be improved upon.

I'm 6'4", lanky as shizz, and 'olive-complexioned'. I, along with my
family, are Muslim much like (ballpark) 70% of Kosovo-Albanians.

Enjoy soccer, basketball, fashion, reading everything, and wasting ours on this time-zapping Internet community.

I'm a pretty nice dude too. Thank the 'rents I s'pose

I'm Chris, with an L. Born 1985 in New Jersey. My family moved to STG in 89 and I've been here ever since. Grew up in a big mormon family, middle sibling of 5. Got my GED and dropped out of high school when I was 16. I've never done well in stuctured learning enviroments, and couldn't stand being around stupid teenagers all day. Immediately started working full time at 16. My best friend OD'd when I was 18, which hit me hard. I spent the next 2 years addicted to heroin. Ended up homeless for about 3 months, and finally ended up in jail. Realized if i didn't stop I wasn't going to live much longer. After getting released I went right into rehab, for 18 months. Learned a lot about myself and what I wanted to get out of life. Had my first child at 20 (surprise!) and that changed everything. Met my wife when I was 21. We dated for 2 years before getting married. We spent 5 years as husband and wife. Earlier this year she left me, still trying to peice it all together, probably won't ever know why. I'm now a single father to 4 beautiful children who mean the world to me. Nothing will ever compare to the joy I get out of being a dad. It's my life. These days I'm an automotive technician, have been for 7 years. I find the work challenging and rewarding, and the moneys not bad. I'm in a great place in life, and enjoy every day for what it is. I love playing video games, tennis, basketball, snowboarding, wakeboarding, watching the jazz, riding my motorcycle, drinking beer, and spending time on here.

That's me.

My sister is a biology major too. She is going into genetics though. She says she wants to be a genetic counselor blah blah blah whatever that means… she used to post on jazzfanz all the time but stopped.. idk why.

I'm 24 years old. 6'3'' and around 210 lbs. I have black hair, rather white/brown skin color and blue eyes. I speak French, English, German, Swiss German, Turkish and some Arabian. I was born in Switzerland but I have Arabian origin. My dad has passed three years in Turkey because of his job and my girlfriend is from Turkey. That's also why I have a mancrush on Kanter but I was never a big fan of Okur. I have the Bachelor Degree of Law, I studied at the University of Zurich (where Kanter's dad did his Master/Doctor). I will travel and work a year and then I want to start my Master. I live near to Zurich.

I love Basketball and I started to love the Jazz back in 98 where I played NBA Live 99 with Stockton and Malone. I like literature and history. I like cooking and working out. I have an interest for different countries, religions, cultures and so on. I prefer to drink something in a bar or eating something with friends, chilling and watching movies instead of loud and superficial parties. I'm quite a lazy person.

Was looking for a burger recipe (found one) and happened upon a recipe for Zuppa Toscana (potato, sausage and spinach soup) that I am going to try. Love that soup at Olive Garden.

My wife fixes that from time to time, and it's great! She uses kale instead of spinach, though--the kale is a little more robust, so it doesn't get all wilty in the soup.

I'm 28 years old. Born in Utah and then lived in Flagstaff, AZ, Oklahoma City, and then back to Utah. I served a mission in Boston, MA. Hence the name "beantown". I am married with 2 little girls. I have a degree in Environmental Science. I currently work for a Solar energy firm in Northern California.

I love golf and my favorite job in college was working at Glendwild Country Club in Park City where Jordan and Dwill play.

Been a Jazz fan my whole life.

62 year old White Male currently residing in my grandmothers basement. I've lived in Sandy UT my whole life outside of 4 years of College in Missouri and about a 10 month stint in the STG. Die hard Utes and Jazz fan, season Utes tix, tailgate before every game (hmu) and I'm maaaybe looking into some season jazz tix this year.

Current pastimes include "hanging out" "having fun" and "drinking beers". I challenge you to hang out with me and drink beers and not have fun.

I'm good at golf but haven't played in almost a year. I was playing at a 1 handicap last year but kinda lost interest. I either like to golf every single day or not at all cuz I hate sucking at it.

I used to be good at snowboarding and go 50+ days each season but haven't been in 3 yrs. I'm gonna get a season pass this year either to The Canyons or Brighton and get back into it a little.

I'm serious like, all the time.

I have a beard.

Got my drivers license at age 16.

Never been to the Bay Area.

*cereal..... especially the 62 year old part

Everything but the 62 yr old and living in my grandmas basement are truer than true.

Also, it's not like I wouldn't enjoy living in my grandmas basement, but my grandparents on my dads side live on a farm and don't have a finished basement and my grandparents on my Moms side live in a condo that doesn't even has a basement so the option just isn't really there. On top of that they all live in South Dakota and the commute from there is terrible.
