Of our current lineup, who is going to change our minds about their play the most?

To me it will be Trey Lyles. Last year I would have said Rodney or Dante, but if he gets more playing time I think Lyles will become a special player. He won't turn 21 until November.

I posted this in another thread but this is a pretty cool piece on him. If it used highlights from January it would be more powerful.

Favors. He's an elite athlete. His d is great. His offensive is very good and improving. He could become an almost flawless player.

Crazy to think he could change our minds about his play the most since he's already very good. I actually think he underperforms for the talent he has so you might be right. If he got in Karl Malone-type shape maybe he could become that flawless player.

Favors has to figure out how to get a call. I swear he gets smacked on the forearm every time he shoots in the paint. I think he's an all star if the refs are more fair with the whistle.

I've been following this board for around 15 years now. I used to play the forecasting game but I almost never post.

I really think Favors is close to his peak. He has become a good (although not great) shooter but he has no go-to moves inside. His hands, on offense, are not bad but also not that great (unlike Malone's, which were great). He is physically capable but obviously is not near the level of a Blake Griffin or a young Dwight Howard and he doesn't seem capable of driving to basket with competence when facing it. As a passer he seems mediocre/average. Gobert, by comparison, already seems a better passer from the high post. Favors already has problems with his back (which seem to somewhat affect his shooting some nights). This is his 6th year and still he is only an average free throw shooter. Let's face it: he is what he is, a good (although somewhat limited) offensive player which happens to be a very good defender overall (although not necessarily a elite one-on-one defender). I think he will, if no serious injury happens to him, plays close to the all-star level for about five more years. He still may improve a little bit, perhaps averaging close to 20 points per game, but I think he shows no sign of ever becoming a dominant force whatsoever. I root for the Jazz, but I think fans can be overoptimistic sometimes.

No kidding. The lack of respect he gets from the refs is nauseating. I know Snyder has yelled at the refs about it before, but I'd love to see him get on tech (or even get tossed) on a really bad no call by going after the refs.
