Who is our long term #1 Superstar Stud?

I don't understand why some people are so high on Burks. The hype we're hearing about the guy is the same stuff we've heard about past draft picks. As Jazz fans, haven't we learned from the Stevenson, Snyder, Miles experiments? Many of you believe KOC is God, but let's not forget that he's only made ONE good first round pick ever for the Jazz.

OP you said we need to trade or draft our next superstar, I disagree. Between Favors, Burks, and Hayward I'm sure at least one of them reaches all-star level. I'd bet my lunch on it. Not to mention the possibility of Kanter becoming something special, he was the number 3 pick after all, that happens for a reason most of the time. And I honestly believe Big Al is going to surprise everyone this season.

So far the only off-season footage we have of Burks is him throwing down crazy dunks in a Pro-Am league, and him nailing 5 of 6 three pointers in the Jazz charity game. That's probably the biggest reason for the hype.

Word. I think Kanter has a better chance to be the #1 than Favors as well.

My oh my...this is getting ridiculous. Glad the season will be played and soon you all Kanter lovers will shut the hell up as I could not stand reading this BS for another year.

To answer to OP question - none of the current roster players are potential superstars. Bunch of role players with limited ceiling.

Derrick Favors is a potential role player with a limited ceiling?

Utah probably won't have a top 5 player out of these guys but could very well have 5 in the top 30 or so. That's pretty good. ESPN's player rankings are completely retarded though.
Bulding this team like the Pistons of several years ago: no superstars but very good starters and a solid bench. Favors will be the best of the bunch and Hayward looks like he could be a very good all-around player. Ultimately, though, I think the Jazz' fate lies in the hands of Kanter. If Enes develops into a top-10 center, then the Jazz will create huge matchup problems. Gasol/Odom/Bynum is aging. Favors/Jefferson/Kanter could be the next big force.

Yep. Of all the inane posts by AKMVP, saying "none of the current roster players are potential superstars. Bunch of role players with limited ceiling" is his worst yet.

I get it, though. AKMVP has a three step plan for restoring the Jazz and his favorite player to the levels they reached in 2003-2006, when AK was "The Man" and nearly led the team to the playoffs ;-)

1. Dump Millsap and Favors. Both these guys play PF and take minutes away from AK's "natural" position.

2. Trade Hayward. He's shown too much propensity for being able to drive, pass and also shoot the 3. This is AK's role. Can't have another player doing the same thing, especially not one who can actually hit a 3 and do more in the lane than just throw up his arms and hope the ref calls a foul.

3. Trade Jefferson for an expiring contract. Al is the #1 option. He gets too many touches and therefore cannot co-exist with Andrei. Also, that frees up enough cap space (together with dumping Millsap) to give AK another max deal. Reinstate AK as the #1 player and he WILL respond with another 16/8 year. I guarantee it!
