Who Was Worse: Rookie Cody or Rookie Dante?

I watched Cody be pretty inaccurate with his 3pt shot. Last night he shot a three that hit high off the glass hard and didn’t come close to rim.

I feel vindicated. People were talking as if he was on a projectory to stardom, heck I even argued with @Tony Jones. He told us he was top four prospect in the class. Told him I didn’t see it and he described a guy that was long and athletic with elite ball handling handling skills which I disagreed with. It felt like people here were ignoring these weaknesses along with his physique.

So seeing all this I feel vindicated. I even remember @The Midnight comparing him to George. What dumbassery. I just remember being called a hater

You are a hater if you're trying to write an obituary after his first 6 games as a 19 y.o.

He shows no ability with the ball in hand. The only time he drives is when he can just straight line drive. There’s no misdirection in his game and doesn’t create any separation whatsoever. These aren’t things you learn when you get to the league. These are skills you come in with. He shows next to nothing.

Cody will make improvements to his body and skillset, but I think those improvements are what make him go from non NBA player (which he is right now) to NBA level player. I don’t see him as a high potential kind of guy. Instead envision him as more of rotational guy who fills in the gaps.

He isn't playing with the ball in his hand right now. He's mostly standing in the corner waiting to catch and shoot, at which point he's missing his shots. He played with the ball in his hands in Colorado, which is why people know he can do it effectively. He had some nice drive-and-kick scenarios last night, but guys were then missing open shots he set up for them.

What is a tweet from January showing me highlights I’ve already seen going to change?

It might explain to some people why the Jazz considered him a top-5 prospect in the draft, and why they haven't written him off after his first 6 games.

It has nothing to do with the post you responded to, and if anything highlights a big mistake in judgement. It’s 6 games in but we know for sure that Cody did not fit into an NBA team right away. Draft isn’t a perfect science, but all that tweet highlights is a mistake in judgement.
