You guys are sitting really pretty for second place with that goose egg in the win column, aren't you?
Absolutely. We've played all the really tough teams. The schedule only gets easier from here on out. Don't be surprised if the Utes win out and finish the regular season 9-3.

Quoted for lulz.

Yes, I said lulz. R.I.P. Ostertag>Duncan

Man I'm looking good.

BYU should lose to TCU or Hawaii. As long as they don't lose both, I'll be right on.

Utah has one more loss to go. I'm not sure if they'll get that one... In fact, I doubt they will, so I'll be off by one. I'd be surprised if they lost another game this season with their remaining soft schedule...

You underestimate Utah's suckiness, me thinks.

Just went through my posts in this thread.

First off, Trout, lol, we'll call it even. Lucky you were suspended during the game.

Now, onto my "predictions" for the season. My first post:
I think Utah beats BYU this year, but BYU may very well finish with the better record. I'm not going to say Utah is a .500 team this year or any nonsense like that. But if BYU is halfway decent, they could finish with 1 loss this year (lol, and we know to who).

If Jordan Wynn is 100% healthy, and he had/gets enough practice time to fully grasp the new offense, then Utah will finish with the better record. Utah definitely has more talent, and even better coaching. The only questions are is the new coaching staff going to mesh immediately or take time, and are the players healthy or do they need more time.

My second post:
If Utah finishes 7-5 (with no major injuries) then someone should be fired.

This is a 2 or 3 loss team, tops, and probably less than that if they can stay healthy.

Looks like even with the injuries, it's only a 3 loss team. Certainly not the 5 losses that I suggested should cost someone their job if the Utes actually lost 5. For all this trash talk the haters are throwing my way, I was pretty dang close. BYU didn't live up to their end, but I was pretty spot on for Utah.

So a question for all of the anit-Utes:

As it stands right now, Utah has at least a reasonable shot at 9-3 or 8-4. Considering the QB injuries, etc. would you consider 8 or 9 wins a success in their first season of Pac 12 play?

I felt they were an 8-4 team going in and I still feel that way. As it stands right now, that record is more likely to get them into the Sun Bowl as opposed to the Holiday Bowl, but overall I'd say it is right within where I thought this team would be.

And I will be elevating my expectations next year because Utah will return alot of talent and experience.

Unfortunately I don't even recall deleting that so I probably did it for reasons other than what you guys are thinking. I tend to delete posts if I ever log on Jazzfanz and I'm really tired because I start thinking nothing I'm typing makes any sense. I probably deleted that post way before the season even started. My post count in reality is probably closer to 1700-1800 with the deletions added in.

Edit: Colton, I think you can see deleted posts right? Is there a date stamp on that one?

I can see that there was a post, but I can't see what it said. I only know what it said because of the people that quoted it.

Anyway, it was 07-20-2011, 09:36 AM, between jazzman12's post and green's post.

Absolutely a success. How can it not be?

I do however, believe that there are some disappointments/concerns:

#1 Utah could have beaten USC in California. I think beating punk Lane Kiffin in your first Pac-12 game would have been awesome.
#2 Utah needs a QB, badly. Until they fix that QB situation, there's only one way to go, DOWN... I think Cal, USC, Arizona, Wash, UCLA, Oregon St. will all be better next year. Not that Utah MUST win RIGHT NOW. But it sure would be nice to get in a few Pac-12 championships (or at least compete for one) while USC is down, UCLA sucks, Arizona is in turmoil, Cal is a mess, and before Sark gets his program rolling. Establish yourselves as early as possible as a top league team.

Utah needs to get themselves a qb!!! And fast!

of their remaining schedule, who do you think they'll lose to?

Although Utah's likely going to be favored in all games from here out, I'd be shocked if they didn't lost at least one. Against Cal or against UCLA would seem most probably, to me.

Cal is the one that I think is up for grabs. After that, I'd at least like to think they can take care of home games against Oregon St, UCLA, and Colorado, along with road games @ Washington St and Arizona. Believe it or not, after Cal I think the 2nd most loseable game is @ Wash St.
