I think we are to the point we could shut Forrest down, but he is the only one who can run a decent offense.

Patton is playing for the Knicks in Vegas. The Jazz white beat the Jazz blue rather easily. Doke, Forrest and Brantley lead the way. Hughes looked like hot garbage. He got outplayed by Kyle Castlin. Paul White had a sneaky double figure game and a bunch of rebounds. For the JVs Teague and Jarrell Martin were in double figures but they both chucked up a bunch of shots to get there. Funderburk had zero rebounds and Morgan had 10 boards and no points. My Vegas 15: Dok, Forrest, Brantley, Hughes (but if he doesn't play better waive him), the Kentucky center, Mathias, Teague, Newman, Morgan, Martin, Mooney, White, Funderburk, Castlin, Danny Green's bro and Kyle Fogg.

I think Hughes needs to be a lot better in LV or he has zero chance of making the roster.

He's got a contract for this next season. His problem is that his handle isn't tight enough and his footwork isn't clean enough for him to create space and get shots off. He needs to develop a side-step, step-back or fade-away. Until then, he's basically a spot-up guy.

The scary thing is that he's not making his 3s either right now.

During the 2nd and 3rd SL games, Brantley averaged on 16 PPG on 45% FG and 42% 3pt FG. He's developing as a big 3D wing in the mold of a Jae Crowder. He guards 2 - 4.

Get rid of Fogg and pick up Tyler Bey.

He’s such a tease. Every time he seems ready to be written off he does things that convince you there’s something special there. Then he fades again. Rinse and repeat. He had a great block last night (photo courtesy of reddit user Trento322).

I am fine with Brantley getting a roster spot. I have been completely disappointed in Hughes. Forrest has earned the other one. How many spots are still open? I would get rid of Hughes so Forrest and Brantley can get NBA contracts. They have earned it. Bring Bey in for a 2 way and look around the league for another 2 way. I am good with letting Oni and Hughes go if roster spots are needed.

Udoka needs to be there, no doubt.

Other guys I'd like to see there: Evans, Green, Hughes, Fogg, Martin, Wright, Teague, Mooney,

Fill out the roster with whomever else. I think there's less on an emphasis on FA undrafted talent mining this season as our roster is stacked and players are actually beginning to want to sign here.

I don't think Forrest needs to be there unless they want to see how he responds to something he may be working with the staff on such as running the point or improving his outside shooting.

Brantley isn't actually a great rebounder. It seems like he takes some time and effort to gather himself to jump. Whereas Juwan Morgan is just very efficient snatching the ball. I wouldn't expect Brantley to average more than 5 or so rebounds. He plays like a wing.

Also, I don't see Brantley as a bonafide point-forward at this stage. He moves the ball well and can be a secondary creator from the high post, but he should otherwise be playing off the ball. This experiment trying to make him Julius Randle or Boris Diaw with the ball in his hands isn't really making progress.

Again, I think he's a 3D wing like Jae Crowder. I think he's rotational. He's not a star, but he doesn't really hurt the team.

In perusing the interwebs I noticed some Jazz alums on other team's summer league rosters. JWF is playing for the Wizards, Ty Wallace for the Pacers, Rayjohn Tucker for the Sixers, Trevon Bluiett for the Cavs, and Emmanuel Mudiay, George King and Erick McCree for the Blazers.

I’ve actually liked him more this year than last… the defense was really good from him for the most part and he’s trying to set guys up instead of shoot every time he sees the rim. I think he knows he needs to be a roll player to survive and he can expand from there. The shot hasn’t been good and hopefully it comes around.

Why? He needs reps… I might sign him to a minimum deal first but he needs time to marinate and can help others as well as keep the team organized.

Remember some other Summer League legends: Bryce Cotton, Trey Lyles, Eric Griffin, Tony Bradley and Spencer Butterfield.

Just don't understand why Oni isn't on SL. Is he ineligible to play? Dude hasn't done much to establish himself as a legit NBA player. If anything, he should be playing SL to prove that he belongs here.

I wondered where Mudiay ended up.
