What's new

Whos trending upwards and whos trending downwards in the rotation

Looks about right. But it's just been two preseason games so don't get carried away.

It's more than just two games ....it's after a summer of each player working on their body and their game and fans get to judge them.

I love Favors - have since day 1. But Trey Lyles will probably make him expendable in the eyes of the Jazz FO by the end of next season when Favors' contract is up.
i disagree. Favors is a stud. And he can play the 5. In fact, IMO, he's a better all-around player than Rudy. You can play those three 32 mins each. And have Bolomboy as a developing 4th big.

I think Burks is an eventual. cap/tax casualty (if Hayward stays). Jazz will have Hayward & Hood and draft another wing next summet

I don't disagree - but I'm talking about what the FO will most likely do. I'm saying the FO will be inclined not to resign Favors, especially if Gobert and Hayward are retained, if Lyles continues to mature.

I love how Mack plays. He makes things happen and is consistent. He's going to get the backup PG minutes, especially since Exum looked good at PG - I think he'll get more assists as a SG than at PG when he's off the ball and can receive a pass and use his quickness to either score or draw the defender(s) and pass the ball to the open man.

Neto is going to have a tough time finding time unless there's an injury.

Lyles is looking great - I think Snyder's going to have to rotate Favors to center when Gobert's not on the floor so Lyles can play PF (and Lyles at PF when Favors isn't on the floor, naturally).

Withey has been disappointing but he won't see any time unless there's an injury so it's not a big deal. I think he'll play better, offensively.

Johnson and Diaw just needs some time getting to know their teammates' tenancies. Every other player is playing as expected - and I like what I saw out of Bolomboy the first game in limited minutes.

The beautiful thing about this team is the versatility across the board. So many players who can play multiple positions out there. It's gonna be a fun year.

Yep the FO wants Favors to walk for nothing. That's their genius plan. We're just too dumb to understand it.

After 2 pre-season games I am 100% sure the rotation is permanently set and will not deviate through the course of the season.

Well, you personally may be.

If you haven't seen how this team has let starting/quality players walk or be dumped for nothing over the last 5-8 years then you haven't been paying attention. And once again, I'm not advocating letting Favors walk; but the pessimist in me certainly sees this coming.

I honestly don't know who is trending up or down but it was great to see Gobert making those free throws. Last year had sooo many instances of Gobert taking a dump at the free throw line at the most inopportune moments. Here's to it being a continuing trend.

Seriously, if you can't see the difference between the BEGINNING of a rebuilding phase and the END of a rebuilding phase there really isn't much hope for you. The Jazz were interested in developing their youth, now they are interested in supplementing their youth with vets. Some teams, like San Antonio are able to supplement vets with youth, but our "starter quality" vets weren't great pieces to build a team around. And don't start with "all star" because Eastern Conference All Stars aren't remotely the same thing as Western Conference all stars. If you ship Hayward and Favors back east, they would be "all stars" already.

Favors isn't going anywhere. He isn't replaceable. Not by Lyles, not by anyone. DMC? Replaceable. Kanter? Easily replaceable. Millsap? Replaceable (by Favors.) Korver? replaceable. Foye? wished we would have kept Foye. Foye was good AND cheap. Booker? replaceable, Al Jefferson? replaceable.

If we had it your way we probably would already have lost Hayward and we would be sweating the Favors and Gobert extensions because Korver and Millsap would be making 35 Million (at the least) between them. Jazz saw their future as Favors and Hayward. They spent the money to sign them and will do so again. Just like they will for Gobert.

Hard to say after two games. Was teh Suns defense just super bad or was our use of a stretch 4 for 48 minutes the key?

If I said anything I would say Stretch 4 lineups are trending up and Favors/Gobert minutes together may be down. Too early to say though, but I'm sure that will be a primary coaching decision all year.

I just want to point out that the ONLY thing that matters this season is how well Exum plays. Everyone else's improvement or deterioration is negligible.

If Exum breaks out we have a contender. If Exum doesn't show progress, we are at best a playoff team.
